Default Computer adivce

So my mom's desktop just crapped out, so she wants a new. I have an HP and I love it so I told her to get one.

What would be the best place online to buy a desktop? All she uses it for is email, surfing, and home stuff.

Acer notebooks suck! - just finished working on one for a friend

Especially there support page done! I would get her a low end Dell, check out there refurbished section and you can get a good deal!

laptops- you cant beat Toshiba. top of the line with a very good warranty.
Desktops- i would get a gateway. had one for 7 years and it kept on trucking. never any major problems.

HP is a good brand.

If you're ever buying electronics online, buy from www.newegg.com

You could always do what I did.. Build one yourself to your own specs. But as far as off the shelf comps go, I agree with the Gateway comment above. My sister has used Gateway computers for a long time now, and she's never had any major issues with them.

Yeah build it yourself bro, you can come out with a lot better machine for the money. You can check www.tigerdirect.com for deals on parts or if ya just GOT to buy the thing they have decent deals on them too!
