which car would you radther have?
okay, right now i am looking at possible getting a new car, i have found two locally that i like, but i just wanted to see which one yall would prefer...
and 2001 Audi TT quattro the 225 one, 6 speed manual turbo..
-or-
a 2003 mustang gt convertible 5 speed manual bone stock...
the TT has high milage, and the mustang has 43,500 miles.. they both are going to be the same price so that does not really matter, i am hoping to get to drive the TT today, and have driven the stang,..
side note, driving a PI manual stang is so much nicer than my non-PI auto...

there were only 200 2002 cobras and they were right hand drive cars shipped to Australia.
if your looking to daily drive your car, get the TT. is so much nicer and refined. my buddy had an 02 TT quatro with a shifter kit (shortened throws), intake, and a chip. it was faster than my 03 gt with a tune.

Is it only Cobra's or is it the same with GT's too?
Wow that's weird, mine never say anything, they don't even care.

the only downside to a vert i can find right now,
is they are breezy as ****, i was at the drive-in with mine, there was a bad side wind, and you could feel the cold come in through the top... also going through a car wash or using a pressure washer you have to watch out for the weather stripping because it has a tendency to leak...
but i love no blind spots when the top is down...

In my experience, people usually diss what they've never been able to afford/drive. My current Audi is the best car I've ever driven in, short of that Rolls Royce I managed to drive a few years ago. Can't beat the build quality. However, they are expensive to maintain when the mileage starts to climb. But with proper maintenance, it should last you to 300k without issue. That said, my vote goes for neither. I'm not a fan of convertibles, and someone that lives in Texas doesn't need a car with Quattro (unless you do a lot of racing when it's raining.)

First off, I have driven, detailed, and replaced the front end on a TT. If you can get in the damn thing, it's fun to drive...but as mentioned above, it's a chick car. They are a total pain in the *** to detail, as like VW's, they have that short pile carpet thats impossible to clean. Many detail shops just "dye" the carpet black with a can of black spray paint. I guess to them it makes it more justifiable if they refer to it as dye.
Removing the front bumper cover and fender is a total nightmare, and pain in the ***...not to mention parts are outrageously priced. I have worked on Audis, Jags, BM's, Porsches, Mercedes, etc., and Audi/VW is one of the worst.
Get the Mustang.

Dad used to own an Audi a while back and it was a piece of crap. Should have been considered a lemon. Try driving down the road and the accelerator getting stuck. full throttle. His Audi was in the shop a lot always something wrong with it. With that being said this was a while back so im sure Audi's have improved since then.

your on a mustang forumn asking people if you should buy an audi over a mustang??
go on an audi forum and post this and watch what happens.
persoanlly its all a matter of what you like more. The american muscle feeling or a swift little smooth but slow audi.

Thats a scary thought. Most newer cars, and cars with OnStar, could be shut off in the event of theft or something, but they will not do it. If they were to shut it off, you'd of course lose your power brakes, power steering, etc..
A stuck throttle cable is no fun. Happened once to me in my F-100 on Rt. 19 in Crystal River, Florida. That 390 loved to run, too. Lucky I didnt kill anyone or myself.

I think a lot of the incidents happened at highway speed, but I can't be sure. In that case losing power steering wouldn't be too bad. Power steering loss is mainly an issue at low speeds, when a lot of effort is required to turn the wheel. Anyways, gettin a little OT. Needless to say, Audi's no longer have that issue.
