I'd fucking love a true blue cobra coupe

Steeda97 03-01-2009 05:34 PM

looks good. shit load of miles though.

PColav6 03-01-2009 05:55 PM

Yeah..to normal people, 53k is not a lot of miles there chief. lol

Steeda97 03-01-2009 05:57 PM

on a cobra it is.

Switch 03-01-2009 06:01 PM

It was probably the guy's daily driver. Who could drive another car after sitting in the driver's seat of that thing!

Steeda97 03-01-2009 06:03 PM

I'm the serious party pooper of this thread but i'm not too big a fan of the 99/01 Cobras. Of course better motor and shit but in stock form looks too similar to a GT.

Switch 03-01-2009 06:05 PM

Well, considering the only thing I don't like about stock GTs is the front bumper which is changed with the cobra, I like it :D

I just imagined you molding an 01 bumper to an 05 GT, lol.

PColav6 03-01-2009 06:46 PM

Why the fuck would I want an 05 GT. That shit is for the loss my man.

lol

3.8for the win 03-01-2009 06:48 PM

im with steeda97 on this one, to many miles on that cobra.

PColav6 03-01-2009 06:50 PM

You guys are nuts, it's a cobra not a GT500. lol.

53k miles on a 9 year old car isn't bad. Mine has 67k

I think all of you keep thinking its like 2005 and not 2009 already.

That is not a lot of miles, but I would pay 14k for that car tops.

2 questions..

What's so significant about 2010?

What's wrong with 05+? Way better interiors, more HP, respond very well to small mods, etc... I mean I know they're a little heavier, but IMHO they're leaps & bouds ahead of for SN95's, at least in the V6 & GT models.

Well..there's no 05-09 Mach 1, the interior's too blocky for me (looks like a truck interior with the dash setup), and none of the $2k+ money's worth of mods I'm saving from my car will work in one....wheels, headlights, audio stuff

And I'm buying a 4v so I'm not worried about how much better the 3v is over a 2v.

Oh, 2010 is significant because that's when I should be able to afford a new car..haha

JMHO, I wouldn't get a 4V unless you got one hell of a deal.. The uncertainty of fuel prices is enough for me to think twice about that.. I've found one Mach that I would buy tomorrow if I sold my car today, but it is insanely cheap with majorly low miles.. Just don't like the idea of 93 being over $4/gal. again.. Which could happen at any time.

Well, 93 octane is usually no more than 20 cents higher than 87 octane..which is what maybe 2-3 bucks more per fill up? Not really much of a difference

And a 2v car with FI needs 93 octane anyway...lol

Where did you hear that a 2v needs 93 octane? I guess maybe with different # injectors and a tune, but not stock.. Not that I've ever heard anyway.

PColav6 03-01-2009 07:52 PM

I said...with FI.

PistonsFan102 03-01-2009 07:52 PM

4v ftw....I wish I had some money...

2004 mach 1 for sale near me

WNRacing 03-01-2009 07:55 PM

This is the car I was talking about..

If I could sell my car before this one sold I'd be to the owners house the same day..

You don't see this every day..

Haha, I was looking at that one too. Wonder if the paint's fucked up behind that gay decklid panel though.

You mean the blackout panel? I doubt it, looks like it's been garage kept to me..

PistonsFan102 03-01-2009 08:27 PM

Evan, I'd find a way to buy that Mach somehow.

LMMFAO...Are you serious? You are one of those who I have respected their views since I came here, but you just blew your credibility all to hell with that naive and ignorant comment. Hmmm...lets see: This is 2009, your looking at a 2001. I guess in 2013 you'll be ready to step up to the plate to a 2005? Go ahead and get that old high mileage n/a "Cobra". Feel free to bash much newer models to stroke that insecurity.

Damn dude, don't get all butt-hurt.. Did you notice the "lol" at the end? He just doesn't want an '05. lmao

What the hell is your problem? lol

BlueOvalFanatic 03-01-2009 09:03 PM

Hey, Im man enough to apologize if you didnt mean anything by that, but I took it as a major stab at the s197's...which again, there is no comparison. The 01 Cobra is pretty much neck and neck in the 0-60 and 1320; not bad for an 01, but it's a Cobra. It should be fast. Would I take an 01 Cobra? Hell yes. I just don't like to be poked and prodded. Again, apologies if that is not what you were getting at.

jseven 03-01-2009 09:05 PM

Don't mess with that mans car...haha

No, I'm not talking down on S197s, they are just not what I want. I'm looking for a 4v Mustang which is either a Cobra or Mach, and a newedge specifically because I can use all of the mods I have on my V6 on it.

PistonsFan102 03-01-2009 09:20 PM

Wow, ever heard of personal preference? Jesus christ dude.

Just out of curiosity, have you ever sat in or driven a newer Stang? It honestly took me a long time to get into the '05+ the body style was just so different (same thing happened with the new edges) but the interior is just so much nicer. It's much more user friendly and the seats are so much more comfortable it's hard to believe. You can crank the seats down so low (which is good for me because I'm 6'4"), the cup holder are actually functional, IDK to me it is leaps and bouds ahead of the 94-04.. The ONLY thing I don't like about the 197's interior is the round vents in the middle, I realize that they are more functional than the rectangular vents, but they just look a little out of place, that's probably the best change from the '05-09 to the '10+.

PColav6 03-01-2009 09:36 PM

Yes I've been in one, they are more comfortable, but I just can't look at one without thinking of how much sportier it could have been designed.. everything's just..square. I like my 90's designed plasticy curvy interior styling. I can live without creature comforts (honestly how usable the cup holders are is something that doesn't bother me as I don't allow open drinks in my car..just bottles, which can be put anywhere). I'm only 5'10 and am very comfortable in my stang.

Everyone has an opinion. He didn't come out and say BlueOvals car is a piece of shit or anything. Pretty sure there was no mention of you in his statement. I don't like the 05+ either. I think they are too big and too heavy especially for the power. An 01 cobra with 53,000 miles is nothing. So what if it's a cobra. A car is meant to be driven and not to sit in a garage somewhere and be rubbed down with a diaper everyday except for the once a week you pull it out of tha garage to wash it.

I just think he likes to get those ^^ kind of comments, he just likes to get under peoples' skin lol.

As far as the '05+ goes, I just honestly think they are all around better cars. Yeah, they're a little heavier, big whoop. Guess it's all personal opinion though.
