Oh boy..
I did it tonight..I blew my motor...
Finally finished mounting the bottle and installing the heater, was all excited ect, so I went and got the bottle filled..warmed up the bottle ect..
Tradition before leaving the shop where I fill up - burnout.
I left off a NICE burnout (even on my peg leg) ..hit the button, no problems.. about 2 miles down the road, I hit the highway..about ..1 1/4 after that.. my RPMs drop to 2 grand
I'm doing 80... i hit the gas, nothing. My steering wheel locks up, breaks lock up, and I coast over the the side of the hwy. My car currently sounds like I have a NASTY cam in it, along with an exhaust leak...
My buddy (who is also my mechanic) says it sounds like I broke a piston..
So out comes the money. I'll be keeping the v6. But forged internals are going in, stronger pistons, H beam rods, the works as far as i can go internal wise and staying within means of smog..
Oh, and cross drilled/slotted rototrs new pads, and the gears/posi, cause if I'm spending a few grand - I may as well go right this time..

Because it'll pick out your weak spots? Lmfao alright. Then don't go FI at all, and definately don't mod you car - because the same **** will happen.

Ya, I like nitrous, but to me the risk runs the same with a turbo or a s/c. I've seen those go wrong also. Hell badfish, didn't something go wrong with the evo?
Anyways, just got an email from SuperSixMotorsports - 4.3L stroker kit - I think thats what will be going in.

Eh, yeah i'm out of it today. I meant to state that nitrous is just as risky as any other FI mod.

So are you going to open it up to a 4.3? I'd love to see the numbers for that thing on nitrous.

Yea I think I'm going to have SSM line me up a 4.3 Stroker kit along with a cam to run with the nitrous.
Hes saying 25HP gain just from the stroker

its a 3.9L and it feels good and louder but i wont acutally know about the power until my break in is done

Sit on the dyno.

OH and by the way - ya nitrous does this.
But then again, my buddy in his new vortech'd 4.0 (06) blew his motor a few months ago.
So it happens with every sort of forced induction, it WILL find your weak spots. And then CLUNK CLUNK CLUNK CLUNK "what the ****" and calling a tow truck on the side of the highway
