Awesome man, Ups is a good company to work for. The drivers that come to my warehouse have offered me a position at their warehouse a couple of times but its so far from where I live. They pay awesome, but they put your *** to work and have some weird hours.

Lmao, you'll just be unloading the airplanes not ******* flying them. The Ups guy thats picks up/drops off at my work makes $80k. Hes in his late 20s or early 30s. Went to work for them straight out of highschool. I actually considered going that route. But decided going to school would open up even more options. Im just still unsure of what the hell I wanna do.

Yet...like he said, they promote a lot within the company. My brother used to work for UPS, it's a cool opportunity.

Good yob Stephen, unloading at the airport seems alot more interesting than bagging groceries. The possibilities of promotion means alot too. More mod money.

Because UPS is a monster company and makes alot of money and you have to work for them forever to get into a truck position in order to make any money.

I worked the warehouse there for a week and quit. They only paid me $8.50 and it was hard *** labor, not worth it to me. I went back to detailing cars and making my own hours and having more money. That was like 4 years ago or something.

Remind me to never order something thats shipped with UPS and that has to go through Orlando. I may never see the package again once Stefan gets his hands on it. $9.50 is not a whole lot of money.

Congrats. You gotta figure that money + full benefits..most benefits packages are between 10-15 dollars more.

There are horror stories everywhere about working for such and such company or trade or whatever, you just gotta figure it out for yourself, for some it works, others it doesn't.

Beats the hell out of working in a retail or grocery store, or in a resturaunt in a kitchen..

Congrats!! I know way too many people that are unemployed right now. It's good to hear of some one getting not only a job, but an upgraded one. Good Luck!

At 18 $45k is damn good, but with that said $45K in California really isn't that much, and making $9.50 in most parts of California will get you a 1 bedroom apartment, but you better not have any other bills or want cable tv.

The day I can find somewhere that will transfer my California salary out of state is the day I'll probably be out of here.

When I was a senior in college there were kids who were soph and juniors working in Silcon Valley making $100k+ and they had a freaking year or two left of college. They probably fell on their *** once the dot com bust happened, but damn.
