Default what do you guys think....

i may have the oppertunity to buy a White or a Black Mach 1..both are completely stock and for dirt cheap with little miles on them.

So, that got me thinking...since its a better platform to work on (the 4v), i thought that it would give me a chance to start over with a fresh stang.

Here is my rundown for immediate modification:
Swap for an 03/04 cobra IRS
Exhaust (my current O/R H or my o/r x thats chilling in the basement coupled with Stingers)
Intake Spacer
JLT RAI
Xcal3 and custom tune

and for the short term (since i already have these parts):
FR500's
shifter
cut springs temporary

i think that it is a good plan. i dont think that i would be set back too much $$ and i would still be ahead because its not the 2v

Do it. You won't regret it...(unless you have an arguement with the IAC like some people I know have had *cough, cough*....but it's still worth it in the end)

I've had recurring problems with my IAC, look for my "why trading the 4v is a real possibility" thread...I was really pissed there for a while, but now that this IAC is working good I'm happy again.

Do it dude! Mach's are going down in price. I wanna trade mine for a 4v so bad, but I just can't get rid of my car (first stang so I'm attached and wanna keep it). Hope to get a 4v and keep my current 6er when I can afford it lol.

I had pretty much the same mods on my mach including a custom dyno tune and that got me 304rwhp and 330rwtq. The only thing I personally wouldn't do is the IRS. I'd just beef up the stock suspension.

get the mach 1 if you can. A much better platform indeed. You will love how the 4v just keeps going through the rpms. I say get the black one. They look sooo good in black w/ flat black accents/graphics.

my vote is for a white Mach. Black is cool, but the hood stripe and some of the other stripes, including the black spoiler aren't very visable. I think white mach's are the most rare.

Have you seen them in person. I've got stock Mach springs and I don't think it's 4x4 at all. Not for me anyway....

If I remember right the mach sits a least a 1/2 inch lower than the GT......maybe lower I can't remember.

I don't know exactly how much lower it is, I know it's not too much lower but enough to make a difference.

its higher than i am right now. lol. im lowered a lil more than 1.5 in the front and 1.5 in the rear.

and as for the IRS, the reason i want it is cause it will be a street car with minimal autox action. besides, i will be replacing the bushings with delrin and aluminum bushings (could care less about how quite it is..makes me feel more intouch with the road).

Yeah, I'd lower the mach. They could still stand too loose another 1-2 inches.

Yeah only do the IRS if you upgrade it, and don't plan to put alot of power through it, and don't plan to do alot of hardcore stuff or regular autoX. I know R3d broke a couple of IRSes. The SRA has been shown to handle just as well when changed to a PHB / Tq. Arm set-up.

with the mods in my sig I made 314/347 on a hot summer day...
And pcola, I got yer AB right here

i have seen IRS's take a huge beating. i know for a fact that they are extremely well built, but because they used shitty bushings, they caused half shafts to break. i could make bushings here at school since i have a lathe and delrin at my disposal, but i know of a person that makes them and theyre proven to rid the car of any wheel hop.

yea, im not looking for any more hp than you gotMACH04, it should be fast enough with the weight savings it get.

from waht i have been reading, on my car swapping over to the mach suspension will lower my car ~1 inch, and on the 99+ it lowers it ~.75 of an inch... but thats if i am remembering correctly
