Default Circuit city...

, there goes my job... got 2 months to try to find a new job...and its hard to find one ATM...

567stores closing, 30K+ jobs being lost...

and it just pisses me off, (If anyone has watched news since nov), as SOON as america heard we filled Chap 11, people slowly stopped shopping at CC, which didnt help us stay open...

but AS SOON as we closed for good, the store was SWAMPED with people yet....our prices were no where close to as good as our weekly ads...

damnit...

Aww man I'm sorry to hear that. I had a lot of friends that worked at the Circuit City right across the street from the Best Buy I work at, and it just shut down as well. I can only imagine how you must feel right now with the shape everything is in. I wish you the best of luck bro.

Jobs are getting hard to come by. I weld for a living and a few years ago I could pick what company I wanted to weld for cause of the demand. My work now seems to be fairly steady, but with todays economy you gotta have a back up plan, which I don't have one yet!

Circuit City sucks. Sorry, worked there for 2 years and got nothing but **** from that place.

Sorry about your job man, hope you got an app into Best Buy with the quickness.

They focked up majorly when they replaced their VP or whatever about 3-4 years ago, he ruined that place in a hurry. They hired him about 6 months before I left and they tried to adopt Best Buy's management program, but apparently went in the opposite direction. CCity was a 100% debt free company and he quickly (3 years or less) turned it into what it is today while BB went from a high-debt company to debt free.

I feel sorry for all of the folks losing their jobs, but **** city has been going down the toilet for the last two years or so and everyone knew it.

There sales are a joke and right now its super funny how the stores are swamped and like you said the prices are higher then a few weeks ago. The camera I bought for the g/f is $20 more then I paid for it near Xmas. What a joke people are for not being able to see threw the bullshit that is a liquidation company. They just see those words and assume its a good deal.

I figured Circuit City would've been gone a long time ago. Prices never seemed that great and their customer service sucks. No offense man and sorry you are losing your job, but I don't know how many times I've called a store and the phone just rings and rings and rings. Try Best Buy though. I don't think they're going anywhere anytime soon. Plus summer will be here before you know it and they will be hiring. Good luck.

Where i live, the best buy is ****, i go in sometimes, NEVER get help...custoemrs always came to us complaining about them...but as soon as Chap 11 happened, people got scared and stopped shopping, then boom "Liquidation sale"....prices are higher, and people are going crazy for it...

its dumb...but ya, thx hope i find something quick lol.

Circuit City started going into a death spiral a few years ago when they decided to fire all of their sales staff (the people who actually knew about what they were selling) because they felt they were paying them too much (base salary and commissions). Sales dropped like rock into a pond, and the ripple effect resulted in the company going bankrupt...

IMHO. Best Buy, killed Circuit City.. Best Buy has more content, not necessarily electronics related stuff but more stuff. Best Buy is always packed on weekends here. CC has let the staff go, and results were, find it own your own. Best Buy has more staff but most of them are either busy as hell, or inexperienced enough to cause the customer to look elsewhere. Been to both and wish CC would stay open. Without competition, Best Buy will get worse as far as customer service. I can remember when CC was the only choice if you wanted selection and service.. I did alot of my shopping there, but now Best Buy usually gets mine if Walmart doesn't have it.. Sorry bout your job young bro. Just hang in there and sell yourself to your next interview.

On a side note here. I think you have to drive a ricer to work at Best Buy.. Looking at the one in my town, anyway.. LOL..
