Is it me or is this forum losing its touch just a little. Not to offend anyone, but it seems like questions are lingering, people arent posting as much, and too many new people just wanting to sell stuff. Which i would like to say that the 200 posts is a great idea. But it seems like the tech side of the forum is fading a little...

I agree with what your saying. Over the summer I could get twenty replies on anything I needed help with. Now it seems like people are either ignoring the forums or just aren't posting. I'm pretty new, but I can still see the difference between now and then.

i understand where you're coming from. But i view it more of a "passing the torch" when new guys ask repetitive questions. it leaves room for the novice guys to comment on the basic stuff. Hell i was just about to ask what type of oil i should throw in the cobra with minor bolt-ons. The search isnt working too well off of this crappy internet we have, and maybe a newer guy could help me out since a 'veteran' feels annoyed from answering it all the time.

i try to do this too but i work to damn much to try and type up well written responses.

i know you work your *** off over there but i actully work harder here at ramstein than i have when i was in balad and at qatar. i look at my deployments as vacations from my shop! i actually got off work today early and its 445 pm local! thats 10 hours of work...i usually work 5 12's sometimes 6 days of 12 hour shifts.

well its not a vacation for me...this **** sucks. I'm the only network administrator for over 300 users, managing 6 servers, and over 20 switches. i'm not allowed to leave my shop until i have put in at least a 12 hour day...then im on call nights too...

Does the forum delete members after so long of not using their login? or after they are idle with no responses?

im the CSA for my shop and i hate the job...i have to leave my jobs on the floor to fix one of the 20 computers in my shop. i know thats nothing compared to what you have to monitor but we have generators going down constantly and id rather fix those bastards. most of the time i find myself deleting peoples profiles and running defrags takes a lot of my time up. i thought of cross traing to a comm job but the more and more people i meet that do that line of work hate their jobs.

I've noticed this too. I put in a question about my inner tie rod in the suspension section, zero responses. I try to help with everything I can, I leave simple questions (CAIs for example) for other guys to answer. Things that I have no experience, opinion, or knowledge about I leave alone also. Seems like there's just not alot going on.

people come and go, but the site has been a little dead lately. I think the mods do a great job of keeping out the BS, but sometimes we are quick to kick out the more "interesting" members. Not saying some haven't diserved it, but that's just my 2 cents.

I can see where you're coming from and I agree. I know that all of the punks that come on here need to be kicked off, but a lot of people come here for help and need our help, even on the small things. Repetitive does get boring, but if you want to stop people from reposting the same questions put up a short sticky or something. Get installation guides from AM or something and post them up. I know not everyone has the time to do that, but (no offense) making excuses isn't helping either.

I don't know everything by no means, but I know that I'd try to help no matter what the problem is. The forums are a place for people to get help and seek answers, not be pummeled by comments on how stupid they are because they don't know how to install simple mods or to not get answered at all...... (Haven't seen it happen on here, but on other forums) It just leaves a bad taste in people's mouths. Just my 2 cents...

yeah i mean i read this forums a lot before i joined and i still dont post all the time but i try to get in here sometimes. but i mean i see people come and go but i do agree with u that if people havent been on in along time they should go bc i know a lot of people read just not post. kinda a way to keep everything active and i feel like we should try to get more people to join the forums! im thinking about making some mb business type cards for my area.

i agree though, this place has been slowing down a bit.

If you have a Cobra I would register over on svtp. They have alot of people that know tons about thoughs cars, and thats where most of your heavily modded cars pos at. Great tech support on that site.

Add that to the fact that it's the coldest time of year. My car hasn't seen anything but the driveway since November. I think things will pick up a little again come spring and summer. At least I know I'll be more active anyways. Hard to talk about something I can't drive right now. I don't know how you guys that sold your cars do it.

I try to stay around from time to time, but school is taking up all of my time now. That's my excuse anyway.

It really has been a lot slower lately. Members have sold or are selling their stangs and naturally don't post as much. Also have been having a lot of one question members that don't stick around.
