Too bad it's not.

The kr does an 11.9 1/4 mile

The ZR1 does a 10.9 1/4 mile

Not everything is measured by a quarter mile....
I love people who pull out 1/4 miles and 0-60s. If you read half of this discussion is about things other than just straight line speed. I'd take a KR over a ZR-1 any day. Especially for $20,000 less...It's much better looking than the ZR-1, especially the silver with blue stripes. The ZR-1 still looks like a regular vette to me, just a few differences. Whereas the KR is a totally different breed of horse.

Personally I don't drag race so 1/4 mile means squat to me, I prefer the road course. And yes, the ZR1 may still out perform the KR in twisties, but I'd much rather have it. Not just because I'm a Mustang driver, but because it's a better all around car to me.

I was going to argue with you here...

I think maybe a little bit you could argue. that is sweet looking vette, but that kr is badass looking.. I still think an 03/04 Cobra is the perfect mustang.

I love everything about the cobra but the engine. Granted... that's fixable.

Actually you can. Sure you can argue the ZR1 looks like a vette, but the KR looks just like the GT500. I would take the ZR1 over it any day.

And 08mustang_Gt, how is the KR better in every way? It's slower, going straight and in twisties, the vette has better brakes an handles much better. Personally it looks sexier too.

I just happened to be in publix the other day, and I picked up the new motortrend, and who woulda guessed what was on the cover...? They were comparing the Zr1 and the gt500kr, among some other cars too, but if I remember correctly, i think the zr1 actually did an 11.2 in the quarter mile, and I dont remember what the kr did, but I think it smoked the zr1 out of the dig.

I don't think the Vette is sexier than that KR. No way in living hell. Yes, the vette looks damn good. Nice, sleek, and clean, and I love the color in that picture, but it cannot hold a candle to that bad-*** KR.

The KR looks like it will beat your ***, rape you, chew you up, spit you out, go into reverse, run you back over and sling your guts all over the road if you look at it the wrong way. The vette looks like it would just drive away, because it is too snobby to associate with you and it is too scared to get blood all over it's brand new paint.

However, I would still drive the hell out of each of them.

Hahaha, yep.

No matter who prefers what car, there is no damn doubt that the KR looks meaner than hell.

Vette says "Ohh, look at me. I'm so pretty and fast and I'm happy about it."

KR says "I don't give a **** what you think, I will still eat all your babies."

I'm sorry but the KR just doesn't look that mean. It looks like a big boat for one thing, but to each their own.

This sounds mean. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vva9IeaXil0

Cobra hands down. I have never seen a Cobra around here, I mean never, but I see a Vette at least once every week. Too much class I think, it's either a retiree car or a little rich boy's car and in most cases is kept completely stock, it's not really seen as the muscle car like the Cobra is.

Well I'm in the Air Force and all I see is vette's... In the city I'm stationed in there is only one Cobra owned by this guy who works at a car dealership. I think its like a 03. The only way I would get a Vette is if it was brand spankin new and it wasn't my daily driver. When I got my stang last month there was a black vette there...... Pretty bad *** inside and out but just not practical and it cost to much to be a 06 and it really does feel like you're in a jet.

Hate to say this but I would take a Z06 over the Cobra if it was just going to be a weekend driver.A Vette is not a good everyday driver and once you go into a parts store and say it's for a Vette you will know why.

I've owned a Cobra and have driven some nice Z06's and they are two different types of rides for sure. The Cobra just feels mean and nasty when you are driving and the Z06 makes you feel like you are in a true sports car that can handle everything you want to throw at it.

The best thing about owning Mustangs is how cheap and how huge the selection of aftermarket stuff for them there is.Thats why you almost always see Vettes looking stock, the price for anything aftermarket for them is $$$$$

Cobra. I have only ever seen ONE on the road. I see Corvettes all of the time.. Very common car, and they are always driven by old folks, or the occasional middle-aged guy with "Terminator" style sunglasses .
