mmm next week
Well next week, gonna finally order my SLP Catted Xpipe from AM
question tho, how hard is it to just install myself? what tools would be needed? or should I just to get it installed from like Midas or somewhere. (((Also, do i need the Mustang O2 Sensor Extension Kit from AM?)))
Another question, for the cheap "CAI" mod, do i just get a certain K&N Air Filter from autozone and remove that big black boot thing and im set?
also, whats the size of the rubber things to put into the holes when i FINALLY remove my spoiler, to hold me over til i MAYBE get the lid painted...
thx in advance, i kno simple question but just wanting verification thats all

1) dont get an slp xpipe, fitment is great, but it hang super super super low....get a bassani catted xpipe..better quality, and sounds better.
2) dont bother with a CAI, just remove the snorkel and put a drop in filter.
3) no you do not need o2 extenders, theyre only for lt's.
4) it is easy if you know what your doing. i would jack the front of your car up as high as you safely can..spray some pb blaster on the nuts and let it sit for an hour or so. the process is easy, 8 bolts, 4 o2 sensors need to be played with and it drops right out.
just disconnect the o2's from the harness (you will see what i mean when you look at them) and then once the midpipe is off the car, use a monkey wrench or the special o2 sensor socket wrench to take out the o2 sensors and install them in the same holes in the other pipe. ive done it 2x with my car...the place that will give you the most trouble is the header bolts tothe midpipe...multiple extentions and swivels were broken in the process of mine

On most aftermarket mid pipes they move where the o2 sensors go and you will need to lengthen them or get extensions. I just take wire and make them longer. You can do it for sure if you can handle removing some bolts and having a solid 2 hours incase **** goes down. Is yours an auto are manual tranny? as auto are much harder to install mid pipes on.
As for the cheap CAI just get a K&N filter for our cars. Which you can get used on ebay or craiglist for very cheap and pull the rubber intake silencer off the stock air box. Its the part that goes into the fender and just pulls off.
If you want I can do all of that for you if you drive to Orlando and toss me a few bucks. I'll add to my list of people who need me to do stuff to there cars.......Stephen.

I can tell you that all Mid pipes are the same. With that being said get the cheapest you can get your hands on. If you want I bet you money I can find you a used one local to you in daytona area or around me in the Orlando area for very cheap.
And when you say spend a few bucks and have a pro do it, you saying I can't do it? Or am I missing something. Maybe I just interpreted it wrong.

they all may be the same in application, but each one is a lil different....my slp catted x pipe only left about 3 inches of clearance pre-lowering. after lowering it, i scraped everywhere, i swaped out for a mac h and have not scraped anything since.
here is my car stopped...pre lowering
you can see the cats hanging extremely low

i meant u, cause it wouldnt be cheap id assume to have a muffle shop install it. lol
and i Prolly wont be lowering my car anyway...for the scraping to matter, and not too many bumps/ditch holes where my car would possibly scrap anyways

it wasnt too bad with just jacking the front of the car up tho.. only pain was unclipping o2 sensors.. then we had to extened the o2 sensors but that probably depends on the brand of the pipe..

About the plugs, there is really no 'size' that you'll need to buy. When I removed my spoiler, 3 of the 4 holes were a different size. You can get either rubber or plastic plugs from any auto parts store. You'll also need clear silicone if you don't want them to leak. I just put my plugs in, and put silicone on the underside/inside of the trunk lid where the plug goes into the trunk. Hope that helps.

Would :: http://www.americanmuscle.com/bbk-sh...96-2004gt.html :: Fit with the SLP xpipe if i was to get headers? 300 isnt bad compared to 900 for SLP LTs

i wouldnt bother with shorty headers...pain in the *** to install and you probably wont feel any gains.
side note: i bought a bassani mid pipe off ebay for 170 bucks it was used but didnt have any dents or scrapes on it.
install was easy and the last time i installed it it only took me and a buddy about 40 minutes to throw it on...my o2 wires are no longer being held in the body so i had trouble re-connecting the passenger side with a hot transmission burning my hand. other than that i didnt need anything extra besides a new exhaust gasket from ford. i suggest leaving everything loose and putting a jack under the x pipe to get it closer to the body.
