Default How to Use the Paint Over-Spray Money?

I couldn't decide if this belonged in a Tech section, so it goes here.

I've got $205 coming my way from the painter that got overspray all over my car. The money is supposed to go towards a paint detail job to clay, buff (polish) and in general just make the paint look awesome. The thing is, I've already got all the overspray off the car except for the plastic and rubber, which honestly, you can't even see that well.
So the questions is: Should I use the $205 for the paint detail, pocket it, or use it for a performance mod. The possible performance mods would be basicly either my Watts-link/LCA, Tourqe Arm fund, or some smaller mod like a throttle body/plenum, or something you suggest, or maybe 3:73 gears which needs to be done.
What do you think? Have the paint detailed, or something else?

If the paint doesn't bother you, leave it the way it is and I say go for the gears.

Well the overspray is off of the paint. And what is left on the plastic and rubber trim, the detail guy said he may not even be able to get off. I went to two other repair shops to see what they could do about it and both said they had no way of getting it off, they would have to replace it and gave me a written estimate of $1015 at one place. One guy did say that laqer thinner may get it off the rubber trim but will turn the plastic white/dry it out.
I'm just glad they are actually going anything about it. But you know what, as I was leaving a little earlier today to go to the library; The girlfriend and I were just getting into her car to leave and I mentioned to her to watch out for a truck that was behind her. It was two guys that work for that same paint company they stoped for just a second behind my car, we were in her car right beside the Stang. Thoes asses were looking at my car, as if they wanted to see for themselves the paint on it or something. Just pisses me off, but not a big deal I guess.

So right now gears are winning out.

I'll bet they got a royal ***-chewing and if it were my guys the cost would have come out of their salaries, cuz that is totally preventable and they were just being lazy. So they wanted to see for themselves why they now have new ********. Or they were trying to make sure u needed a new paint job. Just never know these days. I'ld keep an eye on it though.

I didn't think about it that way, thanks for pointing that out. I just didn't like the idea of me dealing with the boss of the operation and then having his guys comming down and checking out my car, suspiciously, for any reason. They wern't even painting anything at the complex, just "driving through" When I called them they knew exactly which car it was bcuase I talked to two of the workers face-to-face one morning while I started it up to move it. And the next day one worker (older white guy who I suspect as the boss/supervisor) walked over and gave me a thumbs up when I started it up and drove off to go somwhere. I think if it hadn't been for the Girlfriend and I backing up to go somwhere and them seeing me they would have stayed a little longer to look at the car.
