Off Topic! MP3 Player questions.
I know i know, this is completly off topic, however, i figure enough people on here have gadgets and i might get some useful informaiton
So, Ive been thinking im about to the point where i need a bit of memory that i can carry around with me..... here at work i have probablt 200+ unofficial technical documents i have written on various things and a lot of technical notes, and i figured it is time for me to get a flashdrive and make sure i have copies of these with todays gloomy economy.
So i start looking at flash drives, and of course then I start moving over to MP3 players. and seeing as how my TV, my Nikon D40, Panasonic Point and shoot, my wifes camera, and my computer all accept SD cards i figure i want to keep in the SD Card format because it is so versatile.
Im thinking of getting either a 4 or 8gig Creative Labs Media player which accepts SDHC cards so i can bolster the memory up another 8 gigs. Has anyone had any experience with this player?

I figure i could throw plenty of pics and **** on it and a ton of music. Not huge on video, but i could as well if i needed i guess. But i could also pop out the SD card and store all my technical documents on it.
Then i ran into this. It looks like it has some good reviews. it is a blatant chinese ripoff of the Ipod Touch, 4g for 49 bucks... they go up to 16 gigs i think...
low on the memory, but for 50 bucks, i mean hell.. anyone ever see or use one of these?

I have the Archos 605 WiFi
http://www.archos.com/products/gen_5...global&lang=en

its 30gb and has a lot of nice features. So worth it. Only down side is you have to pay for the add ons such as internet etc... but its not to bad. Ive had it for about a year now and no issues.

I have not had that specific creative product but i have had two of their mp3 players and they rocked. Neither one broke and each had to endure being dropped almost daily, being used in rain, and being left on side of a ski hill for a night.

I saw that one and it looked pretty sweet./ The 4.3in screen is awesome, but the killer for me is the size. i want something that can fit in my pocket and not get in my way.
Other than that, i would be all over that archos

Sounds like they got build quality down pat then

but on the other note, all Ive heard about the Creative Zen are good things, Id go with that one.

I would go with the ipod touch. Pretty sure its the same thing as the iphone except the internet can only be off wifi instead of wifi or cell towers. The other nice thing is apple is constantly coming out with updates to make them even better. Many companies just release something and move on. Had about 3 updates so far on just minor bug fixes, increase battery life, etc on my iphone. Worth the extra cost from the ripoffs IMO

i have had 2 different creative lab mp3 players and my sister has one too. they were awesome and had no problems with them. i eventually upgraded though to a 16gb ipod touch and i like it more bc of all the features and its just awesome. so its up to u if u wanna pay the extra money but for me it was worth it...
