Hey Photoshop guru's...
Wow so yeah, CS3 is pretty sweet and i got a ton of **** to learn.
got a question though for those of you that do HDR.
how the hell do i save the goddamn pic as a Jpeg? all it lets me do are TIFF and a bunch of other file formats ive never heared of.
Im lost in trying to figure this out.
thanks!

go to the Layer menu at the top...scroll down and click flatten image. That's IF it's simply multi layered. if you are trying to convert a RAW image to jpg...it's a whole complicated process. google "how to convert RAW images to jpeg in Cs3"

it works with files that are already jpeg, but i guess when layering you gotta flatten it out or it doesent give you a jpg selection. ill mess with it when i get home

Hmm...weird, I'm using CS3 and even in layered images I can select JPEG. Then it flattens it for me. Sorry that I'm no help, I just find it strange that in all of the Photoshops I've used (7, CS1, CS2, CS3) I've never had that problem. Same with PSP X2. I'm curious why it is that I'm not having that problem.

Well I'm definitely no expert, but from past experience I found that if opening some file formats such as .raw or .png, CS3 doesn't allow you to save as .jpeg, so I just copy the whole image and past into a new worksheet, and then it'll allow you to save as any format you want, including .jpeg.

haha
All the short cuts pretty much just means to copy and past the entire image into a fresh photoshop worksheet and saving it as .jpeg. nothing special. Its quite useful for working with weird image formats, especially some formats like .gif which you can't do some of the layering effects. Working in .psd and then saving to other formats make things alot easier.

I think KING is everyone's favorite character in tekken. Man, it's been too long since I've played that series...maybe that's what I'll do today. I've been spending so much time on my computer the last week since I got the CS3 trial trying to remember how to use it, I guess I could use a break.

yah so that **** diddnt work. Once i form up an HDR no matter what i do the option to save as a JOPG never comes up, even after flattening the thing
ill dig yup a yourtube instructional video soon and try that
i can save normal jpg's as jpgs, the only thing i cant save as jpg is the HDR
