So i get home and my mom is freakng out about gas and how it is seven dollars in detroit. i go fill up my truck (two tanks thirty gallons) and it is still normal here (lansing michigan). Is this everywhere or just michigan? Anyone know any causes? i knwo that 7.00 a gallon gas is reality for my lifetime but i am almost positive this cant last.

wow $7 for regular? you guys are getting raped. There probably scared about the hurricane in the gulf since you guys are so far from the refineries anyway lol. Its only 3.65 here but prices usually go up when there are hurricanes in the gulf because of the lost production and/or damage to equipment

dude i jusst googled this ****, right now average price in detroit is 3.69 per gallon, it is one of the cheapest states to buy gas.
No offence to your mom but i hate it when somone just hears something and they assume it is true. And people seem to always be ready to accept the gloom and doom as truth rather than validating the infomation themselves

ya i was so pissd when i got home
i just looked it up , highest price was 5.40 a gallon.
one station in a 40 mile radius
everythign else was about ten cents under four dollars.
at least i got gas otherwise i would have had to wait till teh 16th to fill up.

if someone sneezes on a refinery, prices go up 10 cents. mass price gouging, and the government aint stopping it...and we all know why. the hurricanes are putting prices here in ohio at 3.65 average. yay. rape the average joe who can barely afford gasoline. i love it.

My friends filled up at 5.35
it is jstu wrong like i dont understand how that is allowed?
they didnt pay more for this gas becasue it is still from the last delivery.
it is also a wake up call to how much gas affects everything.
it must be MAN BEAR PIG!!!!!!

there mostly factoring possible damage in Houston. Exxon has a big facility down there that has to do with much of the oil around the US if I remember right. If there's damage to those you will see prices jump quick. Like people said before this happens everytime there's a storm threatening the gulf especially in the areas on the oil rigs and refineries

If our president had any ***** at all he would put an end to this kinda BS.. Gas prices weren't too bad last week. WTF. The new shipment hasn't even got to my station and they raise the price. BS, Wait for the trickle down effect before you charge me more than you paid for it. AHHHH...

in my area it's now up between $3.80 and $4.50 at some stations. yesterday people were going apeshit. mass cars at every station. i witnessed one guy cut someone off getting to a pump. the other guy helped him out of his car and into an ***-whoopin. then he moved the guy's car out of the way, so he could fill his up. craziness. supposedly it's up to $6.50 in little rock and conway.

I was seeing prices from $3.78-4.09 in Conway before I left yesterday, on place close to the college had $4.25! I couldn't beleive it. Dumbass Arkansas. When I got home all the prices were $3.65-3.75, or a little lower. Glad were not driving my car, that sucker hasn't been started in a week.
