Well if this job I want pans out it will be ruffly 40 miles one way to work. That's not a big deal really to me as I have the Vstar motorcycle to ride on sunny days. However I will still be driving the stang alot there and well I dont want the wear and tear on her. So Im looking threw craigslist for ***** and giggles while I talk to the g/f and come across a 85 SVO mustang for $2,500 in good shape right down the road from me with a new paint job. Needless to say I have always had a soft spot for them and they get good mpg when you stay out of boost. So depending on this job offer I hope to get I might unlike alot of other people go out and get another mustang. Talked with the owner tonight going to look at it tomorrow to see if its worth getting or not. For the price I might do it regardless cause I would love to have an SVO to DD.
Damn these SVO's are cool! I would very much like to have.
For example did you know back in the 80s your speedo couldn't go over 85 (gov regulation). So to get around it ford stopped the lettering on the speedo at 85mph, but put the lines there where the numbers would of gone so you can see how fast your going. That's pretty cool way to get around it.

My 88 GMC truck only went to 85 on the speedo. Thats so gay. ( can I say that? ) But I used to get cheap *** radial tires and it sat almost as high as my stang that I was scared to go even that fast.. I'm not a fan of rolling a truck at 85 MPH.

Car turned out to not be as nice as I hoped. Exterior was good minus some detailing but thats not problem. However the inside was a mess and the motor didn't run well and blew nice amount of black/blue smoke (more then likely bad rings in the motor) so I passed on it. Oh well I will find another one day near me.

I am very familar with the ins and outs as I had one for 6 years. That smoke could be oil from the PVC or the turbo bearing seals being busted. Remove the IC, it should be clean if its oily then its the turbo. I would look at the upper intake through the TB and if that oily could be the PVC.
If I could get another SVO I would keep it 100pecent stock. Once you start changing stuff and dont keep SVO specific parts like interior value goes down. If you change your mind about it or need more help let me know. That was my intro to shade tree auto mechanical work and have taken that whole car apart and together several times. Changed 6 head gaskets runing 22lbs of boost having no tune might do that. My record is changing a head gasket in 2.5 hours start to finish.
