That's a wikipedia link for anyone who hasn't heard the story. You can also youtube the 911 conversations. In summary: A man shoots and kills two men who broke into his neighbors home and were stealing ****.

I'm kind of torn on how I feel about this. In the 911 call, you can clearly hear him say I'm going to kill them. I honestly don't think I could kill two men unless I felt my life was actually threatened. I know he was scared that they were breaking in next door, but I don't think I would assume someone was armed immediately. One of the guys was actually running away when he was shot. I dont' really understand why he couldn't just stay in his house. I'm all for him blasting them to bits if they came through his front door, but the police were on their way and I don't think they were going to get very far.

 

I'm glad he shot them and If he needs another neighbor, I'm buying the house! My property is worth more to me than any thief.

 

I think he should have stayed in the house. I know that he wanted to keep his neighbor's things from getting stolen, but he went out side to shoot the people, that aint right. No one was in harm, so he should have just gotten all the information he could (license plate #, physical discription ect.). I bet if he had just poked his head out the door and said "Hey the police are on there way to arrest your *** (deport you) they would have ran off. Operator told him not to go outside.

 

He should of stayed inside BUT he was protecting his neighborhood. If the police had gotten there sooner he wouldn't of shot anyone. He was in harm because if they robbed his neighbors house, why not his house? It took a whole 8 minutes for the cops to get there. Doesn't seem like a long time but if they were 2 minutes quicker, no one would of been shot, and they would of been in jail. Instead of hiding in the woods trying to get people for speeding maybe they should be a little quicker in getting to a robbery.

Good neighbor, but if the robbers were white, he probably wouldn't of went outside. Which is a shame.
