Many moons ago, I had a love in my life. I was done with college, and she was wearing a ring on her finger after two years of a relationship. I was all set to move to San Diego and she was to follow. I went first, but she never showed up. We split up....she said she was not ready for a relationship.....could not see herself married. So, I got the ring back and it was August. She was married to another guy by December.

Moral of the story....you can't force a girl to like you and want to be with you. When they say "no"....move on, there are more fish in the sea. A few relationships later, I met my now wife and have been together for 17 years.

Similar story with me. My 1st true love was good for at least 4 years. We were late teens early 20's. My next for real true love lasted a year and a half. Still in my early 20's. Then came my next really true love in my mid 20's. I lived with her for 4 years, and I am so thankful now, that she decided to fall in love with a good friend of mine.. I left after this and played the field for a few years. Then I found my true love at 30 years old. Moved in together, got married when I was 32 and have been married 16 years this month. I could not imagine being with any of my other true loves, I was hurt but it was for the best. I found my soulmate for life. I am truely lucky in that sense.. And, Yes I still cherish the memories I've had with the other girlfriends, but I'm happy the way my love life is right now. My wife is my best friend, and we can tell what each other is thinking just by being in the same room.. And if we get sidetracked by arguments or problems in general, we both know that a good ole fashioned X-rated night makes it all good the next day..

I had a girl do that to me. Sort of, we were dating for a few months, so needless to say i wasn't in love, and if she went splitsville I would be okay. And one day she decided to call me up, tell me she was engaged to some guy fighting in Iraq. So I told her to **** off and hung up the phone, she decided to keep not only texting me. But texting me about him, like how she was crying because he had shratenal in his stomach and could die. A day later he was fighting, (Yeah, she told me the day after he had surgery to get shratenal out, that he was out fighting again "on the front lines") Needless to say I knew she was a liar, so, I got pissed. I would have banged her Sister but she didn't have one. SO I banged her best friend. To this day I don't think they have talked since. I felt pretty good about myself.

Sounded like she said she's 'not ready for a relationship' because she may have been talking to the guy before and/or during the time she was talking to you. Basically, it sounds like she was keeping you on 'standby mode' in case the guy she really wanted to be in a relationship with didn't want to be in a relationship with her, if that makes any sense. You were her backup. If he didn't want to be with her, she would be with you.

Trust me, I'm a woman.

Well I thought that part was obvious. It's pretty much 2+2 when anyone is dating more than one person they tell them all they areb't ready, then when they make up their mind, they are. She wasn't exactly "lying" to you, because she wasn't ready with anyone. But she wasn't straight forward with you, which one should expect. But under all the above guidelines. ******* her besft friend and/or sister is the only recourse.

Unfortunately, as I've read above, you've been through a similar situation and I'm glad someone else understood what I meant. Good for you to ******* her best friend. That's what she deserves. Also, that's a wonderful way to prove loyalty in a friendship. A true best friend wouldn't do some **** like that.

I think she already had her mind made up that she was going to be with the other guy instead of Steeda21. I think what it was, was that the other guy hadn't made his mind up yet, or she was waiting for him to come around. That way if the other dude didn't come around, she wouldn't be left alone. She'd have Steeda on the side. That way, she could have her cake and eat it, too. Either way, she'd have a boyfriend.

Yeah, it could go either way with what she was doing. But bottom line is she was dangling him and probably atleast one other guy, including the guy she is with now around until she found out what she could do. Ive always been straight forward with girls I have dated, told them who else I am hanging out with and that some day I might be in a relationship and we'd have to stop dating. Girls always say they are okay with it, but right now I am in one. And a girl who I dated a few times before I now trying to get me to cheat on my girl, which I never would do, saying she should have done more when I was single. In a way I feel bad, because I am awesome, but in a way I don't because I warned her.
