Growing up sucks, selling the stang
Yeah...
It sucks having responsibility. But i have bigger things to worry about than the mustang for now.
So im gonna sell the mustang.
Back when i was single, no kids, with 2 roomates renting my basement and only paying a 3rd of all my bills, i had enough for the stang and thensome, plenty extra to upgrade her and all that.
Now i have a family, and just $40 affording to fill the gastank is getting ro be a rarity.
Im tired of being broke. And last night i was in the garage drinking a beer, and i just finally admitted to myself i need to sell the stang. I just cant afford the payments.
Plus my insurance will be going up since my wife rear ended someone.
I pay more than i have to, ive been paying 500 a month. Im sure 100 a month of my insurance is the Mustang.
Get rid of the stang, and im looking at saving 600 smackers a month.
Plus, im gonna play with my exemptions at work, we got back damn near $8,000 in tax return this year. GOnna be blowing about 5,000 of it on bills, another 2,000 on our wedding ceremony we plan in august, and the rest saving for some sort of a honeymoon.
8 grand though? Seriously? I could play with my exemptions and get myself an extra 400 a month and STILL look to have a decent 2grand tax return.
That, plus selling the mustang, plus knocking out 5 grand in bills will save us roughly 1,200-1,300 a month!!!!!
i can sit there and hack that 2nd mortgage and have it paid off in a few short months. Then save up some extra for the wedding/honeymoon, and hopefully by this time next year i can have about 4-5 grand available to buy a Mustang 5.0 Cash and get back into the hobby.
It sucks getting old, but i dont understand the point of spending 600 a month on insurance and payments on something that sits in my garage all the damn time.
Im gonna take a loss on it too, but i can recover the loss pretty quicky.
Im gonna list her up for about 18,000. I doubt i will get more than low 17's for her (mustangs have good resale in colorado, still have bever seen an 05+ gt for under 22k)
i will be sad to see her go, but i figure in a year or two ill be back in the game again, and the difference is i will have enough money to do some modding on her.
EDIT: i dont figure she will be up for sale for a few months though, gotta replace the front bumper and nobody wants to buy a stang in the winter. lol

I hear ya dude. Went through the same thing actually. I moved a little further away and the gas was just killing me.
Do you own a home? Once I got my house I claimed 3 or 4 for about 6 months and then 6 for the rest of the year and still got back $3k, and we would have got back more if my wife didn't make so much damn money last year. Go to whoever does your taxes and see if you can figure out how many exemptions you can claim without having to owe at the end of the year.
And crap man, you just put a bunch of money into it with the shaker and hood!

i have around 3 years worth of payments left, if i only had a year or so i would just tough it out.
Im going to sell it pretty much AS IS, except i will replace the front bumper.
I would really like to at least yank off the shaker, CF hood, and Brakes and put them stock, but i dont have the stock hood anymore. and the brakes are a pain, and when i get back into the game i dont know what mustang i will get. I might end up trying for an 03-04 cobra, or a Mach 1, or i might go the route of building up a nasty 5.0
As i said, i wont be listing her for a few more months.
I very well may take it and park it for a day or two in one of the richer areas, maybe some kid with rich parents will ask mommy and daddy to buy it and they would give me asking price.

Oh man. You can't! After all the money invested into it. Theres gotta be another way man. You can't just have the honda! Now when people say why the hell do you drive that, you say I have a sick *** f'n mustang at home. But without that, who are you Jack? WHO ARE YOU?!?!?!
haha jk. gotta do what you gotta do. Just dont lose it. Make sure you get another one.

Im definatly gonna get another one.
However im gonna have completly different goals with the next one.
1) IS MUST BE BLACK. I dont want anything other than Black.
2) I want to be able to get it to 400+hp in a budget.
3) Everything must be paid in cash, no financing. Just saving up and buying the stuff. im tired of othre people getting interest out of me.
i would really like to get a 93 5.0 and see about working the engine up to a heqalthy 400-450hp
I have pelenty of time to figure this all out though
The next one will probably be a lot less flash. I want it to look good, but other than making sure it has a good coat of paint and some nice wheels i will probably focus mostly on power and drivetrain.
i want something that hauls *** but i want to be comfortable too. it wont be a track car, definatly a street car, but it would be nice to lift the front wheels if i want

i decided i'll be homeless before i sell my stang....in fact...the only thing that would make me sell my stang is if i had a chance to buy a jet black challenger ,tinted outlaw dark and a hoodscoop.....thats the only thing that would ever make me sell my stang
