Always something else...
Just like the title says, there's always something else coming up it seems.. Been trying to get my finances in order to get another Stang, but it seems like every time I get myself a little closer something happens and knocks me down.
A few weeks ago I found a '96 Mystic that was a great deal, got the finances in order then never heard from the seller again. (asshat)
Now Im looking at another GT local.. What happens? Last Sat. my jaw was hurting pretty bad and I realised that one of my wisdom teeth had cracked.. So, now I get to waste another $1,000+ on my freakin' teeth.. What fun!
Uggh, aint life grand?
Maybe by the time I get my tax "rebate check" i'll actually be able to seal a deal. Not crossing my fingers honesty...

good deal EXCEPT it looks like they took the pics in a body shop and since the front and back plates are off i'm thinkin they replaced the front AND back end....and looking at the dust and dirt on the tires compared to the rest of the car they obviously just finished painting it....add that to their choice of words, "it runs GREAT" as opposed to "it runs MINT" and i'm gonna say i have to pass

it probably just needs paint or something. i doubt it is pristine, but i could deal with minior cosmetic issues and replaced bumpers for that drivetrain

$13k for a '99 Cobra? Sorry, but that's kind of high around here.. Maybe it's the cost of living or something? Plus, honestly the fact that it is in the body shop does kind of leave a little to be desired.
I really need to stay away from the Cobra's though anyway, cost of insurance would be almost equal to the car payment.. What really sucks about that though is the fact that I have no accidents or tickets. Sucks being young.

Wow everyone seems to be getting down on this cobra. lol.
this is my take from the pics.
The fact it is a 99 with 28k miles tells me it is probably NOT a daily driver, hell, that is just over 3,000 miles per year, or around 8 miles per day.
It MIGHT be in a body shop, it also MIGHT be in a dealership and recently came out of the detailing shop. The owner may have traded it in for something better.
The ONLY thing you can be sure of is that it is not a private garage. Any assumptions that it is a body shop are pretty unfounded because there really is no evidence to point it to being a bodyshop. Ill bet it is at a dealership.
If it IS at a dealership that would cheerfully explain the lack of tags. The message also says "We take all trades" which also points to a dealership.
Even if it DOES belong to a person and not an agency the guy probably pulled the plates off for the pics like they do on most craigslist adds.
I just checked 15 random Craigslist adds with pics, only 2 of them had pics with plates on.
And streetracer i dont follow your logic at ALL as far as the dust on the wheels means it was painted? All it means is it drove across a dusty floor. A lot of delaerships here outsource thier detailing to other locations, or it may be in a different building, with the fact it is winter in colorado it is FAR FAR more likely that it was detailed and then driven to the dealership and all that white crap on the wheels is residue of all the De-icer compound dumped on the roads from CDOT's snow removal fleet.
Yer all jumping to pretty strange conclusions.
This is what -I- see.
I see a 99 cobra which was most likely NOT a daily driver, a mere 3,000 miles per year which is not normal for colorado drivers, that is only 8 miles a day.
I see a good looking engine bay with no obvious modifications, no intake, none of the normal "first things done" boltons. The exhaust tips look stock (at least not rolled).
I see what looks to be an unmolested lightly driven cobra that was traded in and is looking for a new owner and costs less than what i still owe on my 2valve GT.
If i could sell my GT tomorrow, my *** would be there in no time.

thats NOT a dealership garage...that truck in the back isnt a ford, looks like an old blazer....28,000 miles might also mean its been in and out of the shop so much it hasnt been driven often...i said dust and dirt on the tires as opposed to the shiny new paint job not dust on the wheels.... $12499 is a lil high for a car that runs and drives "great"...and of course....this 99 cobra aint exactly that legendary 03-04 cobra that you know you really want it to be....i wouldnt because the number one reason this isnt a good deal is a MINT 99 cobra is valued at $10865 http://www.kbb.com/KBB/UsedCars/Pric...uizConditions=
According to the link YOU tossed up it is 11,965 for excellent condition, not 10,8.
lol.
Streetracer pwned streetracer
and Duh no friggin ****? it aint a termie? you mean that cobra diddnt do the ******* time warp and go get an sc slapped on? Well thank you captain obvious for stepping in and stating such privledged knowlegde to the rest of us!
what it IS is a good lookin 99 cobra with a 4valve engine, as long as the 99 4valve issue was taken care of it should be faster than the new GT's
Wait, 28k means it has been in and out of the shop way too often? Are you high? dude, yer jumping to rediculous conclusions, FIRST it was that it has obviously had MAJOR body repair, and NOW it is a lemon because it is low miles.
Oh, let me put a friggin cherry on the top of this, I CALLED THE PLACE, IT IS A DEALERSHIP.
Ohhhh.... Ohhhh.... i feel the disappointment.... ohhh....no..... streetracer is... WRONG!
And since it IS a dealership , im sure you could talk it down UNDER bluebook price.
BAAAAHHAHA HAAH AHA HA H AHHAHAHAHAHAHA

damn jack, are YOU the seller? jeezus you took my pissin on that deal personally...lol....anyway...i said mint was 10.8...and looks like you kinda pwned yourself too cause 11.9 is still less than the amount their tryin to steal...as for them being a dealer shop...ok...so its a DEALER body shop....(assuming they cannot tell a lie) lmao...buy it if youre that in love with the deal...i think it sux but thats why TOMMY isnt buying it...JACK can do what he wants
11.9 is 500 under what they are asking, tell me that it wouldnt be easier than **** to get that car for a THOUSAND under asking price. They will want it gone, it is winter, nobody will be buying, i bet you could deal it out for 10.5.
As for weather or not it is a deal, would definatly have to see it, but hey, i would happily drop 12k for a cobra with less miles than my GT as long as it is in good shape and has a clean carfax

Back to the original thought on the thread. NO you are not supposed to get ahead. If you were born poor you'll probaly stay poor. All you can hope for is to leave with your *** and it still has a hole in it.
