Saw this last night. Anyone else? I went in thinking it was going to be ****, but I was actually very impressed. It was a pretty unique movie, couple cliches, but they pulled it off very well. The only think I couldn't handle was the ******* camera. The entire movie is shot by someone holding a camera, and it was shaky as hell and all over the place the entire time. I got kind of sick, but I was the only one of my group of friends who did, so who knows. All of my friends fell in love with it too, i wasn't as impressed..but I'm also a lot more critical. Still, good movie worth seeing.

 

I might check it out tonight...so is the "creature" anything like godzilla?

 

A few of my friends said the camera was pretty sickening. Sitting in the front row doesn't sound like a good idea...

 

okay...where do i start? shaky camera was annoying but not as annoying as the fact that this guy would actually carry a camera through it all...after awhile you start thinking wtf??? who the hell would carry a camera filming while a monster is chasing him or filming while a monster is eating his buddy or filming while crawling across a skyscraper rooftop...then you wonder how the hell does a camcorder battery last all night anyway...then you wonder why would a guy go back for a girl he slept with ONE time...jeezus get a new one....THEN you wonder why a girl who is trapped in a building unable to move can suddenly run when its convenient...did the writers forget they found her in a room with a pipe sticking thru her chest nearly in a coma...it wasnt totally bad but close to it

well...he just wanted to document the whole thing, he beleived he was going to live, and he wanted on film. he even said that. although I wouldnt do that...some people would. and the camera was only on for like 7 hours...and you didn't pay attention to the story. they were freinds for years but they both loved each other, and he had to go to japan so he didn't want to get serious, so he backed off. she took it the wrong way, and thought he didn't like her. but when he realized she was so important to him, a monster was attacking. but the thing with the re-bar, then running at full speed, that was a little far..

well...i havent bought a camcorder yet that goes much more than 3 hours on a battery...hell it barely lasted while i was filming the movie...but i will say this good thing....they have a star trek preview before the film...and hearing spocks voice do the final frontier thing gave me goose bumps....cant wait

it's really a mutated girl...they were running all sorts of fake myspace pages and youtube videos prior to the release of the movie...some girl gets a package from her scientist boyfriend that he wants her to hold for him but it says 'dont eat this' on it...so ofcourse she eats it...and then other youtube videos show her feeling sick and starting to look weird...since they didnt address this in the movie i have a feeling that this cloverfield is the start of a franchise...look for cloverfield part 2 next year..remember this is the makers of "lost"...they just love this stuff

 

hey badfish...i know you didnt like the startrek preview but how insane was that will ferrell clip.....that guy must have sold his soul to the comedy gods

 

This movie was pretty good. I'll give it a B+ rating.

 

ferrel's funny but he's selling out...I bet all the funny parts in that movie, were in that preview.

 

I liked the movie too. Story was interesting and from what i have seen there is alot of things in the movie i didn't see when i watched it. And from what i understand they already know what they want do for a sequel to it from a different point of view so thats cool. I would say more but i don't want to ruin it for others. Saw it Friday as well. It was okay, I wasnt really happy with the ending, but they'll make a sequel so you're kinda trapped into going and seeing it. Ive heard that at the end of the credits, you hear a noise that is Rob's voice saying "its not dead" but can only be heard when played backwards. Who knows. The rebar thing was lame, she wouldve bled to death when they pulled her off lol. BUT the special effects were some of the best Ive seen in quite some time.

 

Biggest disappointment in the flick was that retarded scene. one minute shes in shock the next minute she's running around? WTF?

 

that and him looking for her in the first place....that skank bought another guy to his going away party...soon as she called him for help he shoulda called her a ***** and hung up....if i was him that movie woulda been about me boning the hottie black chick in an elevator shaft while the city burned

 

yea i heard the same thing about the voice in the end. when i saw the movie i didn't remember hearing it. on a local rock station they played the voice forwards and backwards. but yea the special effects where really good in the movie. the whole girl running thing was bullshit, but w/e. i mean hell, there's a giant monster walking down the street and we're sayin' the girl can't run. lol. anyways, 3 outta 5 stars. maybe 4. maybe.

 

fordwards he clearly says "help us" and backwards it says "its still alive".... There will be another but from what i understand it will more then likly be from another persons point of view. If you didnt realize there was more then just one of those things. One was large and one wasnt not nearly as big (the one in the park at the end) so it may have more of that one in it i dont know. I still find the whole girl and blood things to be really weird. I wonder what happens when your bit by one?

 

I thought the movie was pretty good and the camera movement wasn't really annoying cause I knew thats how it was going to be. That was the point of the movie, it was told through the eyes of the people.
