Default Its that time of the month again....

Yup, time for my 2008 racing plans to change...possibly again.
I tell you what, I don't know about you guys, but I am sure am getting sick of this crap. Every few weeks, I change my mind as to what I wanna do. I have been doing this ever since I got my license 20 years ago. I am still shocked that I have kept my Mustang for almost 4 years.

Anyways, ya'll know I have this car, that I just raced the weekend after Thanksgiving:

This was on an Oval Track. I traded for this car back in June with hopes of running it on both Oval and Road Courses. Regretfully, it will take some major cutting to make it bi-compatible and I really don't want to cut up a perfectly good short track car. Enter my friend Dan. He races in the Porsche 944cup and has a parts car that he is done with. He offered it up to me to build into a race car. Yes, if I got it my plans would most likely change before it ever even saw the track but heck, it gives me something to talk about.

Well, I am still on the fence. Granted, it is a free car so it should be a no-brainer. The engine needs to be rebuilt, but he is willing to help me with that since he has done it before. It would take about $3k to make it race ready, but it would be worth 3x that when it is done.

Here is Dan's car:

There is a 944 for sale in the paper here for 1K that needs engine work, thought about going to look at it but I'd never do anything with it.

Honestly. my father and a few friends are building 3 race cars this off season. (diff class and style, we are dirt oval) and really you think it will be lots of work, and it is, but today i spend 7 hours just welding and painting and wow what a great day.. its a wonderful hobby, and once you get into it. its so much fun..

good luck with your build..
and its addicting we just bought our 4th car..
but 3 of them we are completly rebuilding cage, to engine
