Mitchell Report...Who's on Roids???
I'm probably too late in posting this, but the Mitchell report is going to be out in a few minutes.
Any predictions on who is on steriods in Major League Baseball?
ESPN reported Rodger Clemens is named in the report as taking steriods.

Why? Its not like shitloads of other athletes don't roid.. to me its more a less "BFD" the government is going to get involved in it? how retarded. They've got bigger drug worries then steriods going around..fix that one first.
How about the doctors who write prescriptions for some hard **** for themselves or others?
Or government officials/peace officers ect doping up on god knows what..wheres the reports for those?
Instead they'll target athletes in hopes to get people to stop paying attention to **** that really matters. Sadly, it worked.
There is no such thing as a "fair sport" and the use of legal and illegal drugs in sports has been going on for years...

Yes I think it's fair they target pro athletes...these guys are in the public eye, they are supposed to be role models for these kids, and set an example.
not to mention that is doesn't create a level playing field, especially when there are good honest players who dont use roids or HGH, or other PE Drugs.
and finally it's against the rules in all sports, & IT'S ILLEGAL!
baseball should ban every one of them ********, the prosecutors in those cities should prosecute every one of them, and they shouldn't be eligible for the MLB Hall of Fame.

Mixedbreed, that is why you teach your kids its a bad thing. You can't control what they do when they get older, however.
I used the **** back in highschool, and yea, it can take its toll. Chris Benoit was also a depressed person, so theres probably a good chance he was on anti depressants.
You know when you get off anti depressants it causes violent mood swings, rages, and in some cases, causes you to hear things that aren't there?
Yes they are role models, but its not going to change anything.
And your point that "its illegal" kinda blows, considering so much other **** is and I believe I validly pointed out that the people that help run the country do some of the same illegal ****. Who also happen to be in the publics eye, and who are a hell of a lot more important.
So the government blew who knows how much more money to put an investigation together for some baseball stars because they might be on steriods, a drug that covers a small percentage of the drugs that are being used by people. A drug that can be bought over the counter in some countries, and in all honesty, isn't very hard to get ahold of.
If a kid in highschool wants to get big quick and wants power gains, he doesn't have to look up to a guy to go down that road. He just needs the money and motivation to get ahold of it. And the last time I checked, most highschool kids don't give a **** on whats right or wrong.
And like I said, sports haven't been played on a level field in quite a while, its something to get used to more a less.
I could really give two ***** about what some athletes do, they aren't on my payroll, most of the time, they aren't killing others, and if a parent can't teach their kid "ok, thats bad heres what it does" well.. its on them.
But the cycle won't be stopping any time soon. And the risks of things like heart failure/liver failure and things along that road are for long term steriod use. And kinda seems like its close to the same as nicotine or any other drug.
Before you go to run the list of risks and what it causes, take a look at what legal drugs will do to you.

[QUOTE=Mixedbreed02GT;297589]what if it were your young son who was playing Little League? he grows up thinking it's alright to do steroids. are you ready to accept the risks of what could happen to your son (if he was in this position)? violent moods swings, sneaking around and lying so he can be bigger, and stronger, and put up stats? not to mention the serious health risks. look at what happened to Chris Benoits family...because he was on steroids and HGH. im sure they'd have liked to still be alive and not slaughtered by the man they thought loved them, and who then took his own life.

I agree with you for the most part. I think SnTBakosFinest brings up some good points, but I don't agree. At first I was pissed the government was getting involved in sports and their affairs, but then once baseball pretty much did nothing is when I think the government stepped in. I also was of the opinion the government has way bigger fish to fry, but now I'm glad they stepped in and are handling it.
I've seen this first hand when I played college baseball. When I was a junior there was this skinny freshman kid that came in and he backed me up at short stop. I worked my azz off in the weight room...blah blah...after summer he comes back for his soph year and he's just ripped and all of the sudden he was jacking bombs out of all fields. Duh I wonder what he was on. Anyway, I think the ONLY reason I was able to keep starting in the position is because the coaches had loyalty to upper classmen. If I would have lost my position to a roider how fair is that? He was cheating and I wasn't!
My point is that kids/adults need to have a chance to compete against a level playing field and not have to worry about keeping up with the cheaters. It sends a HORRIBLE message to our kids...especially high school and college kids because they are the ones who are striving to become something they dream about.

i still say that if the pitchers and the batters are both juicin then wheres the advantage?...who gives a hoot?...until bonds or clemens pull a chris benoit and choke out their familys i really dont care how hard he hits or he throws
#18
if you look at barry bonds when he first started playing he hit what? 20 - 30 homeruns a year? he was 6', 185#, now he's like 6' 280
then he goes to the giants, his body weight damn near doubles, his head gets 3 sizes bigger, and now the lousy sob is jacking 50-70 homeruns a year out?
my dad and i have been having the argument that steroids doesn't help you hit more homeruns.
his theory.
you still have to the put the bat on the ball.
my argument.
if before you were taking steroids you were only hitting the ball 300 feet on average, and maybe 10 - 20 homers a year, but after you started taking the roids, you're now hitting the ball 500 feet, and hitting 50+ homers a year.
i will agree that baseball is mostly technique, but there is a lot of strength to it as well....and steroids make you stronger, and able to hit the ball harder, hit the ball higher, and hit the ball farther, then steroids is definitely an unfair advantage.
also helps you throw the ball harder, and faster too....if you see guys start throwing 105+ mph fastballs, you'll definitely know something is up.

The sad thing is, Bonds was a damn good player before he started taking roids. Sure he was still an *******, but thats when he was winning all his golden gloves and everything. He just became big, slow, and could only hit. But you do still have to make contact with the ball. If you sucked at hitting the ball in general then roids aren't going to help that.

As for the gov't stepping in and doing something about it, someone had to and baseball sure wasn't about to.

LOL!

Obviously baseball isn't going to.
These guys bring in millions if not billions of dollars.
I know college athletes that make trips to mexico monthly during the summer.
Sports and sports entertainment industries aren't going to sack the guys that dish out big numbers, because that is what people want, big numbers. They pay to see big numbers in stats, look at the Barry Bonds games. Everyone hates him, yet the stands were sold out to see him do it.
As for Mixedbreeds dad sayin that roids don't help out a player..
It does, greatly. If you can drive a ball 280 feet you have the technique already, if you were throwing 85 and now throw 95 its a boost.
Steriods build the muscles and tendons ..stronger tendons = harder throwing. Bigger muscles = bigger hits.
