Default Victim of Fraud?

Well, for the second time in the past four months I've been a victim of fraud. Four months ago someone bought $500 worth of stuff from a pep boys in Southern California (I'm in northern Cali). So the bank did an investigation and I got my money back.

Turn forward the clock four months and it happened again. I looked at my bank statement today and someone in made five ATM withdraws in Burbank, CA and West Los Angeles, CA that totaled $600. I never let anyone use my card, never lost my card or anything. Some how they got my pin, re-created a card and started withdrawing money.

What the F is going on! Why don't people go work for their own damn money and stop ripping me off.

This happen to any of you?

It's only happened to me once, and they got something like 500 dollars in about an hour. Bank gave me the money back and it never happened again. That REALLY sucks that it happened to you again, especially in such a short time frame.

Ive had it happen with a credit card and my inlaw has had it happen twice with a credit card. In her case it was when she used the card at a gas station to rent a Uhaul. In my case I think it was in a gas station and I was just getting gas.

In your case its probably someone watching an ATM recording your card with a MICR reader and video spying for pin.

I think your probably right. I either think it's a gas station that I use, ATM machine or maybe someone in the bank. It's funny cause both times it's happened the charges are made in Southern California...weird. When I talked to Wells Fargo they took a physical description of me so they could determine it wasn't me making the withdraws. The lady also said they will get the ATM photo's and have me try to identify the person.

I hope they catch the bastards and they go to jail.

nah, i love computers, i can sit behind one all day for like 18 hours, and only get up to go to the bathroom, or grab a quick soda out of the fridge.

i like computers, because in the end I always win, and figure it out, and then it's like booyah bitch, now what you got?

Racism sucks. Being a racist just doesn't get you anywhere in life. Me, I'm a supremist. I think I'm God.

just had to have my amex replaced because of fraud. Some asshat decided to manually key in the number for 50 bucks across the country (S. Carolina) from where it was used just minutes before by me at a gas station. Got to hand it to Amex though... they called me before I got a bill, had a new card to me the next day and took the 50 bucks off the bill. No hassles at all so far with amex.

That's cool it worked out for you. I don't have any beef with Wells Fargo either. They recognized a weird pattern of withdraws and alerted me to it, which I'm thankful for. They will put the $600 back in my account today so that's cool. I'm just tired of this crap. Why don't people work for their own money.
