This is really messed up...

i think that constitutes trespassing since he didn't have a warrant, unlawful use a firearm, discharging a firearm within city limits, inhumane destruction of a dog, attempted murder of a dog (if that's actually a law), armed criminal action, assault with a deadly weapon, disturbing the peace.
But since the guy probably isn't black, PETA won't give a damn, and they won't even make a fuss over it, like when they did when Vick got caught for fighting dogs.

i'm fairly certain theres nothing on the law books that forbid any cop shooting a dog...i know they changed that law in ny so that theres no paperwork involved in shooting dogs...that's in response to all the pit bulls being bred by the drug dealers in the city....so pretty much nothing can be done about the cop shootin the dog...if they wanna make a stink about it maybe they should try sayin that he fired his gun where all the kids were and go the reckless route...but i guaran-damn-tee you he isnt losing his badge over some dog

Just as it is illegal for a cop to shoot yer car, to shoot yer house, to shoot yer tv, to shoot yer whatever.
Dogs are property in the eyes of the law. If a cop walks up and shoots yer dog that is destruction of property.

yea that dog shouldn't have been shot, that's not something an officer should have been envolved in. the animal control ppl should have gone to that if it was a noise complaint or if it needed to be put down. that's shitty of that cop to do that. now if the dog came at him in a threatening manor, yea shoot to neutralize. but it didn't.

It would be the same as destruction of private property, not to mention it would probably also fall under animal abuse.

thats pretty jacked up... the dog is alive will prolly have some nasty scars and the cop will probably have to go to some classes or see a shrink for his actions. the officer is clearly mental to do that. the dog owner is pretty gutless to help the cop tie up the dog.

by the way...lil off-topic but NOBODY shoots to neutralize anything....anytime you fire a gun its fired to KILL...if you want to neutralize buy mace or a tazer and use that...we were havin this discussion in a bar the other day about some guy the cops shot that was wavin a knife and people actually were simple enough to suggest that the cop could have shot to wound him or shot the knife out of his hand...uh uh...the rule is shoot to kill and keep shooting until the other guy stops moving...just throwin that out there
