Whats a reasonable asking price for my blown 99 GT ??
Id really love the have a Terminator Cobra. My car is just about paid for and Im thinking about moving it for a down payment.
My car is in excellent shape. 99 GT, 5 speed 31K miles. It has a 2002 Explorer 4.6 engine with 26k miles on it. I have a Vortech, Bullitt intake and full exhaust among many many other mods.
I honestly dont know what to expect to get out of it. Its almost 9 years old but in perfect shape. I know it depends the buyer and mods dont really mean much but, does anyone think I could $15K out of it?? Id want atleast that much to put down on a $20K+ Terminator...

You can get whatever the car is worth. Maybe more if you can find someone that is looking for a sc'd car.

will need a better pic too....generally 5 year old pics dont do much to inspire a buyer...lol...seriously though....the supercharger believe it or not takes away from the value....i'm not too familir with the new edge setup but if you can remove it and restore the car to its former stock state i'm bettin you can get more selling the car and the supercharger separately.....or sell it as is to a highschooler with generous parents

Blown GT's are not worth a bit more than a stock NA GT. Mods are a losing investment.
If I were in your shoes, I'd think about doing a 4v conversion on a built bottom end. Termy's have enough of their own problems like weak rear ends and head tick problems that it's just as easy and inexpensive to build what you want. You've already got a substantial investment in your GT and it's a pretty neato car from your description.
In any case... for a dressed 99 with extras... I'd probably pop no more than 13K

I myself stay away from blown GTs when looking for another ride or helping others look for a mustang to drive, too many unknown mechanical variables.
For instance, my brother was looking at a '99 procharged Cobra vert. Has a new built, forged engine with less than 2k miles on it. The guy's asking around 17k for it. On the surface, it seemed like a good deal, but you don't know how much abuse the drivetrain went thru, what blew the previous motor, hows the tranny, clutch and pressure plate, what shape is the brakes in, etc etc...
Hell, even a n/a used mustang can be trouble, I bought my '02 GT for 12k and put another 10k+ into it, and thats just the engine.
Buyer beware, your car is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. Good luck with the sell 8-).

I would be shocked if you got more then 10K for it. Sorry, just being honest. The car has two major strikes against it. #1 is the blower and #2 is the fact that it has the wrong motor in it.
I have a blown vert and would be lucky to see 13k. Verts do a lot better in the after-market then do coupes.
The Explorer motor is a major problem IMO from a re-sale stand point.

wow...i missed the explorer engine part...uh....maybe if i was hard up i'd give you 4 grand for it...its not a mustang...its not an explorer...its somethin else and i dont doubt it moves but it kinda makes it worthless to pretty much everybody...cause the normal car buyer isnt buying a car with the wrong engine in it no matter what and the average racer is gonna shy away from buying someone elses science experiment....i know i prefer to race my own work....keep the car and have fun with it

I think yer better off with the GT...
I personally don't care for the terminators... I like the Mach1s 100x better.
I don't know what ford was thinking when then put the ISF in them. And they are the only cobras since that I didn't care for looks wise, ever.

I figured Id probably make out better parting it out. i have most the n/a stuff and even a PI intake lying around.
The motor swap I could even fail to mention because you cannot tell just looking at it, but Im happy I did it. Taking off all that weight off the nose made a big difference in handling.
Keeping my car means a forged, ported head longblock, a KB and a 6 speed at some point. Thats alot of work and money all over again. If I had a Cobra i think I could be satisfied with a few bolt ons, atleast for a little while lol.

Just go with a TKO500

TKO is not something everybody wants. A t56 is a much more refined feeling tranny, the updated t56 called the tr6060 is supposed to be quite silky.
and oohsoobad: take my word for it.. you're never gunna be satisfied. Just suck it up and use the car you have. At least most of it is paid for right.

Yea,it will be paid for with my tax return. Im trying to keep all my options open. Reading your 5.4 swap thread gave me plenty of new ideas too. If bolt on 5.4 headers and intake become readily available I might go that route.
