Mustang collectability

I can pick up a 5 litre for 2 grand any day of the week out here. value will stabilize and nice examples will get nice prices but like all other things it's not the scarcity, it's the desirability that determines value. If all of a sudden aliens steal all the 88's they can find, 88's won't be collectors items.. they'll just be uncommon.

Here in Florida the prices have gone up i was looking for a drag only car to make and wanted a fox hatch or coupe didnt matter to much. But my god have the prices gone up. To get one with just a nice exterior which is all i want as the driveline will come out and interior changed out is a good $1,500 Were talking 4banger manual cars its nuts. A nice 5l coupe can be $5k and a hatch can go for $3500-4000. Its rediculous.

No way! Most of them look like crap and are all beaten to hell. One that runs and looks OK will get you $2500. An extra clean one will fetch what?.....$5000? I have seen some for sale for a lot more, but only when they have exceptionally low miles and are extra special like a limited edition (7-up cars and stuff like that). Problem is, these guys are asking nearly $10k, but if the new owner plans on driving it, the price will soon drop like a bomb.
$ for $, a clean Fox Body with low miles (say under 70k, not extremly low) and selling for even $6k is still a lot of car for the money. Keep in mind, though, that you can get a 1998 GT with the same miles for about the same price. So, I would say that while the Foxes are not going up in price, they do seem to be holding.
