hes blaming higher mileage on the gears? i dont think 3.73s make the odometer go up..am i wrong?...it doesnt sound right...and i sold my 2000 stang for that price...
now heres what i would be trying to wrap my mind around:
he lists all those mods on a car that he calls immaculate...but he has the pi heads with intake off to the side...why?? what would make a gear head stop short of 60(?) additional hp? i know i wouldnt stop modding there unless something made me think the car wasnt worth it...what happened? he obviously had the modular bug we all know so well ask yourself gearheads.....what would make you stop short of adding 60 additional hp with a part you already have in your garage? somethin so screwed up that he not only gave up the mod but decided to sell the car...hmmmm...cause none of us would be able to resist seeing what that mod you already own would feel like in the car unless we knew the car was so ****ed up that it would be a total waste

Way overpriced!
Even in Excellent Condition its only about $7,300 for that car, and thats figuring it has about 75K on the clock. Unless he drove w/ 3.73's in for 20-30k miles, I doubt his odo is that far off.
The mods that he has done don't add as much as he thinks to his asking price. Maybe 2-300, tops. That car is more in good condition which is worth about $6,800.
To put things in perspective for you, I got $9,000 for my 1996 Cobra with 83k on the clock, and that was with a fair amount of mods on it. The only thing not done to it was a blower.
For those years, look for a Cobra. They are in the range of $7800-10k depending on the amount of miles you feel comfortable with. 215hp v 305hp Stock makes a big difference.

Well, the 3.73 gears would throw your speedo and odo off by 13%... so he would have had to drive 120 thousand miles to throw it off by 15 thousand miles... his speedo should be off by more than a couple k assuming he hasent had them on the car since 1998.

I wouldnt buy a car that the miles are not correct. If the owner was lazy or cheap enough not to spend $100 and a half hour time install one of the gear recalibration module things then what else has he skimped on.

My rule of thumb- Never buy a modded car
even though Im sure many of you have had good experiences, you all know there is an element of risk involved, even for those of us who are mechanically inclined.

The odometer is basing your speed off of the driveshaft rotations, not wheel rotations. In all reality, most peoples speedos arent perfect. If you change the sidewall height of your tires, you are going to mess it up by a negligible % You are changing how far you travel per driveshaft rotation.

Good point, he has a superchip but could get the little recal gear? pssh

I put one in my 1998 GT I had once upon a time and it worked perfect.

You dont even need the speedo gear, those will fail eventually anyway. Dallas Mustangs sells a plug and play module that you put inbtween a wire harness plug by the transmission. It adjusts the signal the computer is recieveing to fool the computer into seeing the right gear ratio.
