Default Deal or No Deal!!

Guys I have found what looks like a decently priced nice 1999 Green GT in a local auto trader and want to buy it but im just asking what u guys think about it? Its a 1999 Mustang GT w/ 57,000 mi., 5 spd., 3.73, aftermarket hood & exhaust, 17' chrome bullitts, susp. kit, and it also says more engine mods(idk specifically what they are) for $10,000... the pic looks decent but i dont have one on the comp :shifty:

Which green is it.....They made two different green stangs that year......1. Dark Green Satin (8,761 produced) 2. Electric Green (6,372 produced).....that's pretty low production numbers when compared to black, white and red for that year. Even though green probably isn't the most liked color it might be a little something different!

That is the only worse color then yellow. I am not a big fan of the grill or the hood, but it is your car. If you like it, then go for it.

As to the price, every market is different. I think $10k is a bit strong for the year and miles, but not too crazy. I would say more like $8800 - $9400. But sometimes people get wound too tight on cost. If you like the car, buy it and don't look back. You could own that car for 5 years, put 50,000 miles on it and still get $4 - 5K for it when you sell it. That is the beauty of buying a used car with lower mileage on it.

Ya.. I definately like the car ... plus it has aftermarket parts that I wont have to spend a lot of money on... and i guess the green color is all a matter of opinion I definately like that color its not gonna be just like any other stang you see cause not many of that color were made, which is what i like about it. I think if I can get him down to 9 or 9500 I will go for it ...thanks for you opinions though

I found them on the Yellow Mustang Registry. www.yellowmustangregistry.com

As for the hood being functional.....don't think so. It would have to be connected to the intake in some fashion for it to be functional.....like the mach's or WS6's.

Don't go for something simply cuz it already has some mods or little things already done to it. Don't trick urself in thinking you like it cuz some stuff is already done for you. Get something you really want

I have had the car almost 5 years and it was stock when I purchased it, and have only put 21,000 miles on it in that time also.

With all those mods, the time/money he put into it, I would be skeptical how it was driven. If I had to venture a guess, he prolly drove it fairly hard. Unless he treated it like a showcar, and in that case he would either not be selling it or would ask for more money. Just my $.02

Exclamation Hulk Pony

Do you know a reputable tech?? If so get it to the garage and have him inspect the **** out of it. Check the bearings and gaskets. An engine rebuild kit may not be expensive ($500 + labor) but worth it if you are worried.

Check the suspension for rust, bent metal and the such.

Also get a body shop to take a look. This is a mistake i made as after my body kit was installed we realized my pony had a ****ty overpaint and the trunk lid and rear fender were off. it was in an accident. Cant tell that shizz with the gt wing on and your naked eye.

If it all checks out and you love it, the go for it.

that is one dirty engine.... wow... and it looks like he might have had nitrous on that car too, if you look at the injectors there is a wire coming out of each, looks like he had the venom 1000 kit, looks just like my engine with the nitrous minus the dirtyness!

very possible. I was wandering why he upgraded fuel pump/fuel injectors/maf, that would make sense I think.

Ya, I understand where you guys are coming from, that is an awful lot of upgrades and he possibly couldv'e tore the **** out of it. I wanna get a car thats not gonna be a peice of ****. But the wires your seeing (Im not sure which ones you're talking about) are you sure they're not from the plasma booster... at first I hadn't heard of that but after looking it up.. http://www.rpmoutlet.com/musv8driveshaft.htm ... I found out it is a part to increase the spark in the plugs in order to burn more fuel = more HP...
that could possibly be why he has all the upgraded fuel parts as well ??? just a theory... but if he did run NOS Im not so interested anymore, lol. I guess I could ask him.. but thanks for your guys help if anyone esle has anymore input please fill me in! THANKS

I included pics of what I see idk if those are what youre talking about... I know im a dumbass srry..2000gt just give me a pic of what youre talking about, thanks..

I'd pass on it def. You can find a nicer one for a little more. Ugly color + possibly abused = HEADACHE ON THE WAY.
