why would it be a stupid move if i can afford it? show me a car with 5000 miles on it that is fully built with the exception of the tranny for $20000. hell, i bought my car with 13000 miles for $22k.

for one thing you will need a **** load of money to insure that thing at a younger age
EDIT: nevermind i see its just a really built up GT.. GT still has to be expensive to insure if your in high school but if your doing it now then i guess more power to ya =D

Because in high school you should be worried about your education and not your car. Something on that car will break eventually, do you have the funds to fix it? It's a nice car but i guarantee it takes a lot of time and effort to maintain it that way.

Like they said above, it will need a tranny to harness that power. Can you afford to drop 6 grand on a tranny with 400+ a month car payments? At 18, Im doubting you do.

how old are you? 17? 18? Say you finance this car for 20gs... What if you throw a rod? Vent the block? Warp the heads? Do you have money to fix that? Yeah the car is built, but honestly, you dont have the money for that car even if you think you can "afford it".

first of all, id have have to sell my existing gt, which would net me 13-15k. i work 35+hours a week, enough for a $350 pay check a week. and i do understand that i would need to get a new tranny to harness that power, but until i do, i would just have it tuned to where i wouldnt have to worry about it for the time being.

Trust me your not gonna be working 35+ hours a week if your a full time student....lol
This is the shitty part no matter how much you tune it and "safe" it is s*** has a good chance of breaking especially on a built car. Heavily built motors are meant to take a beating at the track but most of the time when daily driven have issues. And for some reason something break lets take for instance warping a head on that motor you cant just put a stock one on there as a fix you need to get already expensive head then install it.
But unless you know this motor was built by God himself I wouldnt say it was built well enough to not worry about it. I've seen built motors daily driver for no apparent reason start eating oil or a bearing gets spun.
But hey it's your livelihood I could give two shakes and a s*** what you do with your money.

Thats what i'm talking about....by the time your done with school and using it as a daily driver it will be beat to crap. -personally $20,000 goes a long way for a house and believe me a girl asks you where you live and your 23-24 years old and you say with mom and pops your not gonna get away with well at least I have a really fast car....lol

Dont want to be a dick here, but from the time I have been here and known you on the forums. Your mommy and daddy bought you your car, not only that, but everytime you actually get something for your car, you come here a post a thread saying "Look at what my granny bought me for my bday or graduation and blah blah". You have been saying you are going to get fr500's since you bought the car about a year ago? and you still havn't been able to pay the grand for that, so how would you be able to pay the $20k for that and the maintaince and repairs for a real built race car?

i see all your guys points and i think im going to pass.
hey spin, yes, my mom helped me pay for my car. she actually paid half. everything else from the exhaust, gears and install, shifter, matainance, new tires i pay for myself. and i said i would be buying rims soon many times but i dont want to buy something i would regret. but none the less, i appriciate your advice and am greatful. lol.
