Wii or PS3
hey guys, im thinking bought trading my Wii in for a PS3.. I already have a 360 and are happy with it.. I paid 250 for the Wii and have zelda for it, they have a new deal if you trade in your old ps2 you'll get $100 off making it $500.. plus my Wii they'll give me $200 for it making it $300, + with all my games from the ps2 and my birthday money prob end up paying $150 maybe less for the PS3 and a game.. what you guys think? go for it and just stick with the Wii!

Personally I would keep the Wii. My friend has a PS3 and I am not impressed with it. There are no games right now or really anything coming out and I bet the games you would probably get for PS3 will also be on Xbox. I don't think it's worth the money and I love my 360. I say stick with the Wii and 360.

don't pull a tard move like that... ps3 sucks t3h d1kzors according to all the people that know. PS2 games play for crap and ps3 games aren't that common yet. Wii has a huge following and has already been hacked (sorta'). Keep the wii even if it is named after ****.

I see HD DVD everywhere. dont see much blue ray.
i doubt either technology will really take off much. I still think it is gonna be like DVD-A vs SACD.
Most people dont have a TV that really can take advantage of blueray or hddvd. Plus the players aint cheap.
The PS3 is the only chance Blue-ray has.

HD-DVD is acutally pretty cool. $200 bucks ain't bad for the xbox version compared to a regualr stand alone player. Even if HD-DVDs dont take off, your only out $200 and whatever movies you have. Of course you need all the equipment like t.v., surround sound to fully enjoy it. HD does look nice on a 42" DLP T.V. though. Stick with the Wii and 360 and you'll be happy. By the way, Metal Gear Solid might be making its way to xbox anyways.

I have both the PS3 and Xbox 360, the 360 at this point in time is so much better its not funny. The game selection is much bigger, and most of the good games that where playstation only are going to be available on both the PS3 and Xbox 360 at the same time.
The benefit to the PS3 to me is the HD capability and it has the potential to be a better platform once game manufactuers figure out how to fully use all the capability. The PS3 provides not only the ability to have 1080p games, a blu-ray player, and the online network is free. It has builtin wifi, hard drive on both versions. It is the only system offering HDMI capability.
I use the PS3 as a DVD player too with my 37" LCD HDTV, Harman Kardon Reciever, Polk Speakers in the bedroom and my Xbox 360 as my DVD in the living room with my 51" Hitachi, Harman Kardon reciever, and Paradigm speakers.
Btw I want a Wii and they are sweet too, I prefer the other two systems for most games like madden, racing, etc but the Wii sports game is a blast and really the only game I would want to play on the Wii.
I had the HD-DVD drive and it really wasnt all that impressive. I already sold it on ebay. It was not as good as the picture in stores and all the articles I have read also say that its not as good as a standalone HD-DVD player while the PS3 is just as good as any Blu-ray player.

I agree with Jack though. Splinter Cell is 10000 times > Metal Gear Solid

It hasn't been officially confirmed yet, but Konami who makes the game is possibly looking at ending the exclusive contract with Sony. They just want to make money and Microsoft already has over 10 million 360's sold. A lot of Japanese makers are stopping their Sony exclusives. Virtua Fighter 4 was only suppose to be on PS3, but now it's coming out for Xbox. Resistence sucks *** and is nowhere close to gears or anything. Every game thats on both systems right now has been reviewed better on xbox.

Wii and Xbox 360 is all you need, and call of duty 3 for the wii is badass.

Dont get a PS3 or any system based on the Tech behind it. Like Jack stated no1 knows whats going to stick just look at the Mini Disc from Sony. I will not buy another movie player deck until it has become the clear winner. Why would you want to buy a 500-600 gaming rig solely on it having blu ray. You should buy it because you like the game titles not the specs of it. Even though you have to pay MS for being on Live its proven to work and everybody is on it.

I agree with Venom. You buy a game system for gaming. I think what Microsoft did with the HD-DVD drive add-on was great. If you wanted to buy it then you spend the $200 and if not, then don't. With PS3 you have to pay that extra money for Blu-Ray. You get no options and people like to have options. It will take Sony a long time, if ever, to compete with Xbox live. It is so well put together and works great.

There a few things the 599 PS3 has over the 399 Xbox other than just the blu-ray.

While that is true wireless is not necessary for playing but a comfort item. Its going to be a hard sell to a parent a $600 game system over a $400 one. Granted when you start adding the play and charge plus other items it can add up quick but you have a choice which is the keyword. Plus if you want to save the enviroment the PS3 uses more electricity to power it

While I agree with you to some extent, the PS3 also has built in wirelss where its an additional item on the xbox, PS3 online does not require a monthly fee, the PS3 wireless controllers come with rechargeable batteries.

Xbox has built in wireless. It's not blue tooth, but it's wireless. If you get the 399 version, you get the wireless controller, and yes Sony doesn't charge for online (yet), but it doesn't compare in anyway to xbox live. Ok, the xbox controller doesnt come with a rechargeable battery, but that only costs $20 for the kit, still better than paying $599. Xbox live only costs $50 for the year, not bad in my opinion. My friend has a PS3 and he is seriously considering getting rid of it and getting a 360.
But I meant wireless network, not wireless controllers. The wireless adapter for the 360 is $100, then add on the $20 for each plug and play kit. That is $20 more for each controller you have. Also the 599 PS3 has an extra 40GB in its hard drive.
But the base Xbox doesnt have wireless controllers.

You are 100% correct and no one can deny that.

Gears of War/Rainbow Six > everything else

How are you going to compare the base core 360 $300 to the ps3 $600,come on now you have to compare the premium 360 $400. Lets stop calling it an Xbox its the Xbox 360 or 360 for short.
