What would you do with $7,500 dollars to use on your car?

Criteria: Completely stock 94-98 or 99-04 V6 Mustang with 120,000 + miles.

Goals: Good all around car that's fun to drive and power.

Would you...

Add an 05+ engine?
281 2valve engine and build it up?
stock GT engine with very low miles?
Save some for suspension?
Exhaust?
Brakes?
Visual upgrades?
Wheels tires?

Can do anything you want, I was just trying to come up with a few ideas. I've found quite a few 2v GT engines with less than 10K miles for $2500, one included with an auto tranny for under $2900, and also a lot of 05+ engines with less than 10K miles for under $3000.

No wheels, tires, brakes, suspension or any visual? So you're pure performance then??

definatly a 4v cobra engine with a six speed...then buy wheels, lower it, and put a nice midpipe and catback

not sure what that would come out too...but close enough

I guess the reason I ask, is because it's somewhat came across my mind of buying another Mustang. I've found quite a few 99-04 v6's for $5K and below. Obviously with lots of miles, but I would do a new engine and tranny.

This all started by looking at Karkraft.com which had a ton of 3V engines, but not many 4v's.

Any other idea or thoughts on this?

don't forget you cant just slap a v8 on a v6 platform... extra weight and power... you need new suspension

I've actually never heard of that. I guess I took it for granted that GT's suspension was same as V6's.

Shocks/struts, C/C plates, springs be good for a new suspension then?

Buy a 1994 GT for 4700 bucks, then put full exhaust, a cam, and an intake on it, then full road race suspension, Cobra brakes, and new wheels/tires.

wink wink nudge nudge.

Most of your lists are way too long for $7500, especially if you have to have someone else do the installs.

Buy the GT

Mongoose kit (3770 + 650 Install)
4.10 Gears (500 installed)
Full exhaust (1500 installed)
Used wheels and tire (500-1000)

ha ha...

V6 platform is completely different then a GT or any other V8 platform...

suspesion wise, yah, spring, shocks, struts are fine.
and don't forget v6s have shitty rears
wiring harness is different too

so if yer looking to do buy a sixer and drop a smallblock in... theres a much easyier way...

if you want an SN95... stay away from the non PI 281...

the 302 made close to 300 ft.lbs TQ @ the wheel... the engine is cheap to build and make fast...
