Wassup guys, so today I got a letter from a local dealership which I got some warranty work done in. It stated that I was overdue 30 days on my 21k maitnance and that if I didn't get it done by the 17th of this month it could have implications on my warranty. The thing is that my car isn't even at 20k yet and I looked up the service manuel and there is no 21k interval but a 25k. What the hell is going on? Are they just trying to be slick? Oh by the way my car is a 04 gt with 19k. Thanks for the help.

If dont want hassles with warranty then just do all service intervals at the dealer, once it expires you can take it to joe blow. It may be a bit more to take it to dealer but if something should happen they have been the only ones to touch your car. If you subscribe to the dealers email they will send you coupons on oil changes and tuneups etc. All they are trying to do is get your business before jiffy lube does. Since theres a report of JL charging for services that they have not performed I would not trust them at this point.

You can have your warranty work done at any dealer or reputable repair shop unless its an extended warranty (then it goes by per the contract)...as far as service intervals tell them to shove it! You can say you do your own maintenance and they can't say anything or void your factory warranty. They are just trying to scare you so you will pay them instead of someone else.

You can always write a letter to Ford Motor Co and voice your concerns about this dealers methods of gaining your business. Tell them that instead of providing coupons to incourage you to bring in your car they just give you threats. I purchased my 1st new car in 2004 and I learned that the most important thing is not the showroom or people that work there but the service department. When my inlaw would take her Acura for an oil change or any service they would wash and detail the car everytime something that is lacking at my current dealer. I later learned that they would detail the car free of charge if I request it but why should I have to ask. Goes to show you who will go the extra mile for the customer.

Great idea! Or give the Ford Motor Company a call at (800) 392-3673. I've had 4 mustangs with factory warranties and NEVER once have I recieved a letter like that. I do recieve coupons and stuff like that, but what they are doing is bad business for Ford.
