That W7 (even being an 8") will freaking pound! Those speakers are badass! The best sub to date JL has come out with...

And, dammit. Everyone needs to stop getting systems, I am trying to fight the urge to put one in my car.......

I don't think it's worth it. I had two 10" JL Audio w1's in my car.

Also, if you have the Mach 460, those factory speakers are very nice. Aftermarket wont be much better unless you reallllly put money into it.

A lot of car companies now use aftermarket systems.

I know dodge is now using Boston Acoustics in some cars and some other cheap car is using Rockford Fosgate

yea my friends has a 10 inch W7 in his stang and he they had to take out the spare and trunk latch to get the box in

an 8" was all the money i was willing to pay for...and i really dont want it headache loud but a nice thump...thus why i went with the 8 instead of the 10...and the place it is getting installed at has a room where it has all of its speakers, subs, amps and head units hooked up so we can just choose the speakers i want, sub i want, amp i want, and head unit and then i can hear it!...it had a nice bass to it but we were in a bigger room and not a small cockpit of a stang...i got a discount on alot of the stuff because my friend who used to have a f150 with a w7 10" (now has a jetta w/ same sub) can get me a discount because his dad has been going to this place for years and years...so i got like 30 off the head unit, 30 off speakers, im not sure on the sub but...i got discounted non the less

i didn't personally like my mach system. It wasn't bass-ey enough. When yiou did turn up the bass....it rattled and sounded horrible.

Yeah that w7 is one bad *** sub. Good stuff man.

1600 seems kinda pricey, how much was the head-unit and memphis speakers?

Still, congratulations on your new bumpin' stang.

the so called "aftermarket" speakers that car companies are putting in are the very low end... ****ty stuff. just about anything thats truly aftermarket will sound better. the mach 460 speakers are CRAP... i took mine out a long time ago.

lol no not pricey at all...

the JL W7 8" with a box was under 500...then amp was 480 i believe...the head unit was 180 but i got it fro 150 and the speakers were 119 and i got them for 95 so i saved a couple hundred off the whole thing...then install was like just under 300 and tax was 90

ah okay those are some good prices, i'm just used to paying nothing for install.
I don't know why, but my shop loves me and never charges me to install anything.

My bro works at tweater... so He got me a really nice alpine amp for 30 bux... one he has himself and payd 150 for. And sold me his old enclosure and a new sub (JL) for 100 and installed it for me =D
He has some of the highest end stuff in his GT... because of his discount he went all out. Then he went mid-range for his audi when he bought it.
Just bought a 2.1 system for my laptop here at college... by Edifier
Thing sounds amazing and the bass reverberates throughout the entire floor... wonder what they think of it upstairs, and downstairs?
I am afraid to crank it to full, even though I bought the warentee.
