And things got ugly!!!!

So, I am driving north on I85 and notice an Evo 9 got on the interstate, it's the first one I have seen in this area, so I figured....f-it, I've heard they are fast, let's see how fast...... HOLY SHIOT! WE got to a clearing, and was already running about 80, so I dropped it to 4th and nailed it. I got to about 110 before I see his headlights jump, and he was on my bumper faster than Rosie O'Donnell on a box of twinkies. All this time, I still had it floored, and all the way up to 145 (BTW, new top speed for me in my car), he was sitting there just playing with me, feathering the throttle!

I didn't think there was any way these things could be THAT fast, so we pull off at the same exit and I start talking to the guy. I told him, I figured he was faster reguardless, but damn that thing was insane......then he proceeds to tell me, yeah, I got twin turbos on it! So, he pops the hood and ****, this dude has his **** done right. It was bad as hell. So, we both start to go our seperate ways and as he pulls off I see his tag........"24 PSI"..Nice!

So, I must admit a massive defeat, and give respect to the Evo9....but all in all, it was fun. And the guy was cool.

yeah youll be eaten alive by one of the new ones. my buddy has one that runs 12.70s with just a boost controler, k&n filter, and downpipe back with no cat. does 1.80 60' stock on hot days.

 

Just get you some longtubes,catback and some good rumbling mufflers and rev your engine hard a couple of times and watch them stall......

 

they know they are fast and they probably wont be intimidated.

 

It's hard to do that when you are already going 80 when they get behind you!!

That's the plan....this is the 3rd time I have gotten in front of him, but the first time we had open road. So as long as he keeps taking that route, once I am mongoosed/cammed/etc. I hope to give him the "what the fvck!" suprise!

 

a Twin Turbo Evo 9...... I'm sorry but i'de have to see it to believe it. Maybe i the car said AMS performance all over it or ISP i would understand it. Probably was the Full-Race upgraded turbo set up on a 30 or 35r capable of 5-700hp.

BTW: stock evo 9's are 270awhp stock, the MR edition is the same jus look s bit different.

 

Ummm, it wasn't stock. It was an aftermarket set up. I saw it.....

 

I know it wasnt stock, but i havent herd of ANY evo's twin turbo. The guy that tunes at our shop tunes mainly DSM (evo's and eclipse/Talons) and he said he hasnt seen any that are twin, but not to put it past AMS or ISP to try and do it on their race cars. This guy travel across the country tuning and has seen some crazy set-up's but not twins yet.

 

If I would have known that, I would have snapped a pic for ya. If I see him again I'll see if I can get a picture for you.

 

So you are saying, that because you and this tuner havent seen or heard of it ... its not out there.

 

Like he said dont put it past AMS or ISP to try it, and he hasnt seen it yet...meaning yea it could be out there, but very doubtful. I'm not saying it's NOT out there but it is POSSIBLE.

Rabbit, if you can get a pic please do i would like to see that set up considering single turbo they are making 800-1000hp i can only imagine what a twin set-up will do.

Recaro racing seats add 50 hp to the wheels.

 

I would'nt drive that even as a loner.I think they are FUGLY as hell.

 

i used to sell em. Their good cars just not my taste. I know for a fact tho that they will blow the doors off a stock GT.
