Default Holy crap, new clutch ftw.

Well, finished the 500 mile break in today, and thus, I had to give it some hell since Ive had to be good for so long now. H O L Y C R A P!!!! This thing will catch tire going into FOURTH GEAR. Its silky smooth, not too much pedal effort like some make it seem, and grips like hell. I recommend it for a street driven stang without a poweradder since I dont have a poweradder to comment on it with.

Congrats! I'm probably done modding for a while, but a better clutch is something I would love to do. I just recently put in a UPR triple hook quandrant and adjustable firewall adjuster and it's pretty sweet.....just pop the hood, give the firewall adjuster a couple of clicks and it changes where the clutch grabs. I'm assuming those two little mods would make an aftermarket clutch even sweeter!

Enjoy, have fun dropping the transmission, its kinda heavy. The breakin sucks though, you want sooooo much just to beat the hell out of it, but after the install, you know its not worth it...

yeah i got it pulled and took the flywheel off in all took just 2 hours and 50mins to pull it and get it all out. Now i need a freind to take me to the machine shop for my flywheel then i will be putting it back in tonight around 4 or 5pm.

I will let you know how it goes. I hope it is as smoothas yours sounds to have gone.

Yea, also, get a puller from Autozone if you dont have one to get the pilot bearing out. We found that its a bitch to get out because the little hook thing is too big to fit two of them in until you end up ripping the center piece out of the old pilot bearing. Youll see what I mean, just keep pulling on it with the slide hammer. Oh, and its 80 bucks at autozone, but refundable when you return it. And thats about the same amount of time it took us to get the tranny out, a heavy sucker ey?

Heavy not really, i pulled my auto aode out my 99 f150 with just one freind thats alot heavier then an manual is lol. But yeah i am going ot autozone in a few mins on my way to the machine shop for the flywheel. So you say the middle of the bearing broke off then you got two hooks in there and that pulled the rest out?

how long did it take you to get the tranny back up and installed? about the same time? 3 hours almost?

Putting it back in was easy because we knew exactly what to do by then. It took us long taking it out because we THOUGHT and ASSUMED it would clear without taking out the H pipe :smackshead: I wanna say putting it all back in and changing the bearing and such took about 2 hours.

yeah i didnt think i had to take the shifter bottom off. and it didnt clear took me 20 mins to figure out i didnt have the clearence i needed.

got the flywheel done and i am just waiting on a ride to autozone then i will toss it all back together when my freind is off work (my car is at his house on his lift).
So if things go well i should be back here by 7pm and eating dinner i hope
