If I was older and had a salary paying job, etc. No, def not.
However I am only 20, still have 3 years of school before my Bach. degree so yes I would sell it. In fact I am selling it, upon other reasons as well. lol.

No....not me. The stang is just a weekend warrior for us and my Saab gets 30+ mpg. It would, however, allow me to consider getting rid of our Suburban. BUT, it will be paid for soon. Then, I have a delemma ...... continue to drive the Suburban and pay for gas, or take a car payment and pay less for gas. Keep in mind, I need a truck, so either way, it's not like I will be saving that much for fuel.
Might I cut back on driving? I suppose. I still have to get to work. I have a total of a 35 mile commute daily, so that's not too bad.
One thing that I could do is take the bus to work. Driving the car costs me currently around $3.50 per day for gas, and another $140 per month for parking. The bus costs $35 per month, so I could save around $100 per month by taking the bus. If gas prices were to climb, then the savings would only increase. For now, the $100 is well worth the flexibility that I have to come and go as I need. Also, if I have to drive to one of our other offices, they pay me $0.45 per mile and cover the parking charges for the day.

My advise to all the young kids on the board is not to drain your wallet if you cant afford to drive a stang right now. Get a fuel efficient car, hit the books and when you graduate you can buy any car you want.

Gas prices probably won't hit the $4 mark more like $3.50 at most. (IMO). But either way I dive 8 miles a day to work. 16 if I go home for lunch, I aint gonna drive any different from the way I drive right now. I may use 5th gear more often though.. And I'll still slam her when necessary..

maybe where you live, but in california gas is already like 3.39 so 4$ is easily plausible if prices go up .50 cents like they say it will, plus california gets screwed the most by the alaskan pipeline fiasco.

Hell no, I won't be getting rid of the Stang. Hell, my Ranger 4banger I had got 24mpg, the stang gets 22. SO, not worth it in my opinion to go back to a slowbanger.
NOw the Wifey's Durango with the 5.9 that's a different story. Thay may have to go if it hits $4. 12 mpg isn't cutting it!!!!!

I definetly won't be selling anything. I have my 95 v6 and a 98 neon that i use for everyday driving. gas mileage wasnt why i got the neon though, just keeping the miles off and winter. my parents have a huge full size van that they use to tow things, and that thing filled up the other day at 80 some bucks! can't imagine driving that everyday, probably have to fill up more than once a week too! ridiculous
