Default You know why I'm glad gas prices are going up?

Rising gas prices is a result of a) our current status/relationship with the countries who provide the oil(which isnt a very good relationship) and also b) because the countries are seeing how close they are to losing ther main source of income(many countries rely on oil drilling as their main basis for the countries money from exports. The rich billionaires in the middle east who are sitting on gold as of now, are sweating because their grandchildren will not have anymore oil to rely on for their riches. So here's the good part.

Places like saudi arabia and whatnot can make us americans cringe because of the high gas prices...and they ARE going to get higher(there's only so much gas on earth). But just think....when you endure it for another(projected) 50 more years, here's whats going to happen...

Americans will still have all their other great exports to sell to other countries, and we will all still have jobs and ways to get around and survive without oil. Basically, the other countries can pull and push us now however they wish because they control our means of transportation(and many other things that are centerede around oil). But once the oil is gone...so is their control. I strongly believe that we will no longer have fear of terrorism bc they will have MUCH less accessibility to ways to terrorize.

So yes, everything sucks now...but I'm positive that when the oil has run out, america will be able to live more peacefully because we won't have our ***** held onto by those other countries. Long live america!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, but i want cheap gas now. I heard this rumor. Ethanol will be oil (gas) 's biggest competitor. As soon as ethanol becomes readily avail, oil companies will realize they are losing profit short term. They will drop the price of oil to turn those away from ethanol. Since they got mucho bucks, they leave the price of oil low until the ethanol plants go outta biz. No competition, jack the price of oil back up, stabilizing long term profit. There is more to it than this, just summarized b/c no one will prolly read it.

We have a Ethonal Plant just outside Burlington (southeast Iowa) city limits and its stock is booming big. They are planning on adding on to ours and building another that can produce twice as much in Glava, Ill. My dad wishes he had bought some share when they were cheap.

We just got a $100 Million dollar loan to build one near me. Any tips on investing? :shifty:
Actually, gas prices suck, but just like the weather, if I can't control it, I aint gonna complain about it.

Ethanol being gas' biggest competitor? You have to make ethanol by using a gallon of gasoline. So in turn, you would be using a **** load of gasoline to make a **** load of ethanol....America=no mo money

I think your thinking of hydrogen or something... ethanol is created by using farm products, such as corn. Up here in CT we have 10% all the time, as it is cleaner burning, and more expensive.
The gas prices wouldnt be so high if we could dril in alaska. ****ign Environmentalists. Also, if we could slap more refineries wherever we wanted to.

They do drill in Alaska bro, they just didn't want them ****in up one reserve in an effort to bring prices down for all of .2 seconds... most of the oil left to be had is off shore, the Gulf of MExico, and along alota the coasts...

Danny I gotta admit your plot here is a bit nieve, if the Arab countries stop producing 60% of the worlds oil, where do you believe that puts us? Venezuala will become the new Arab country... and we'll still be SOL because the Oil produced in Iran and other parts of the middle east is far to rich in Iron, and costs much more, so yes there IS more oil, but it's still guna COST that much to refine it...

PS, that ethonal won't make a huge dent in the market for some time to come, in the mean time, oil companies in the US aren't raising prices because they're being charged more... don't be fooled, they always increase prices before the summer because more people buy gas,... and then after the summer it goes back down...

so as far as everything you just said,... it's just not a very valid arguement... Welcome to the business world...

PS, there is no Long term profit for any company, they can only achieve gains in the short term...

So in the mean time, the only way to get around this problem is to get a high paying job and then gas prices won't effect you as much...(easier said then done...lol...now If i can only follow my own advice...DOH)
