Please don't close this. This is a VERY serious thread. I wan't to hear the opinions of members on the legality and useage of Marijuana. I wouldve put this in Political, but it stretches beyond that. We haven't had a good discussion on the forums because theyve been, well..dead. I honestly would like to hear what people have to say. As long as it is kept at mature level, I beleive this can be a very interesting topic.

If you have an opinion on the use, political aspect, or any other topic regarding cannabis, state it.





I personally think that there is no good reason marijuana is illegal. It makes no sense to me. America's laws contradict themselves. If you think you have a reason, post up.


Now...useage, well ya'll no me. I think when it comes down to it, do you consider marijuana "wrong?" if so why? because it's a drug, and drugs are bad? that reason wont work, I want a legitmate one. Seriously, if you do..why do you consider it wrong? I bet i can disprove whatever theory it is you have ;)

all i know is i dont want some high dude driving next to me late at night. i lost a good friend of mine in high school cuz he drove high.

i think its sad America has to make laws to try to prevent people from doing dumb things....we are becoming a very sad nation.
if it wasnt illegal i would think it is just as bad...
it is wrong because it ruins your brain and prevents you from making wise decisions.getting drunk is just as bad in my book for the same reson, it ruins your brain and prevents you from making wise decisions. people cant fullfill their potential when they're high or drunk

If you smoke weed, do it in your own house, don't do it around other people that may not want to be associated with it. =\

marijuana smokers arent all lazy dumbasses. it just so happens that alot of lazy dumbasses smoke marijuana.

by the way marijuana is proven to NOT kill brain cells. it impaires memory for a few days after use but thats it

i aggree with that...but every action....even done alone effects someone else in some way...

The high from alcohol is much more debilitating than the high from pot.

IMO dont do anything while driving and dont be under the influence of anything while your driving.

I think its illegal for a reason. Although I think they SHOULD make it legal and tax the **** out of it, and make a fortune. Its just unsafe to make it legal in my opinion.

yeah...
when America makes laws to try to stop people from doing stupid things...it never works....look at the roaring 20s...but i do think it discourages it and trys to tell the person that its wrong

first of all...when did i say all pot smokers were lazy and dumb...only thing i said is they made a wrong decsion
secondly, it is wrong because it destroys your mind! when you come on the boards and post when you are high u just seem so stupid.however when you are sober you can reason intelligently!
what good has happened due to drugs?? drugs mess up goals,minds and lifes....

This may sound corny, but I believe cannabis has changed me into a better person. I have a much broader point of view ( i can see things from everyones perspective), it has made me realize and recognize my responsibilties, i have a greater understanding of the reason of life and why I exist, and im a much calmer, nicer person.

well some people may or may not accept my logic. which is why im not willing to share it. i firmly beleive i am correct, but everyone has different opinions and will probably think mine is bull****, or wont accept it. but because i understand why im alive, i can live a much happier, full life.

the reason we exist is a very good topic...but it seems to me people try to make up there own "reason" to exist....
people do drugs and alcohol and sex to try to fullfil the empty feeling they have inside...i belive the only way to eternaly fullfil that emptiness is in Jesus Christ.
He has made my life so fulfiled and happy.
Sure life is not always good and cheery...but i always have the joy of Christ in me!

people who want to smoke marijuana, smoke marijuana. it is VERY easily attainable just about anywhere. the law isnt stopping many. but when someone is imprisoned for smoking a plant that impairs you to a point where you are still much more coherent then if you were slightly drunk, i think thats just messed up. innocent, nice, good people have wrongly gone to jail for that reason

its the exact same thing basically....not chemically, but the principle is the same...it impairs your senses....people like that feeling......as far as being dumb goes? no, thats un-true....un wise? thats a possibility.....but if you tracked down every person in the top 5% of your class rank, and the top 5% of s.a.t. scores.....you would find atleast half of them smoke pot.....now i know thats a pretty large assumption, but i would almost garuntee it....because weed stimulates your mind and imagination....in order to learn your brain must be stimulated....and quite frankly, how could the possibly do all of the studying, i mean its so boring? not when your high, you will probablly be able to find a way to make it funny and keep yourself interested...at least thats what they all tell me....

yes...but everything in some way affects someone else....if the you became sober then tryed to join the military...and they would accept you because of your past mistakes...and they wouldnt allow you a job....since their policy states that...if you had a idea that would save the world but since you werent in a job that could use that idea...then thats like riping the military off of a good soldier....

and uh yes. and its proved quite effective. its not like im smoking my self into a stupid state. i mean smoke just a tiny bit..maybe 2-3 small hits. it centers me, calms me down, and enables me to concentrate and become more engulfed in whatever it is im studying. good grades earned me a GT.

i think its ok to have a drink or two...but getin drunk is what i think is wrong

honestly my parents dont drink at all....if they did thats ok...unless they got drunk...they personaly dont like the taste of alcohol...
even when im old enough to drink i wont....i dont like the taste of it...plus i have better things to do....

well i kinda look at it like this....rules are set to be broken...and i really dont care what people do on there own time....just dont endanger anyone else and be sure to make legit decisions...pot doesnt impair me to the point that i cant function 100% normal....and as far as driving high goes....I dont do it, i refuse to drink and drive or smoke and drive....but when im riding with someone while high my senses higten and i become more alert do to the "cop factor"...

you might think you have a bright future now but smoke weed regularly and often for a period of time and you will be a useless member of society that I and every other productive member of society will have to support because of the wonderful welfare laws in this country :bash:

You sir are living in ignorance if you truly believe weed does not do any long term damage to your body...I don't know where you got this information but whatever pot head site it was probably isn't the best source for this information. When you get to college you will learn to consider your source because there are morons everywhere that will say what you want to hear and have "research" to back it up.

As to your original question, I think all the people wanting to smoke weed should be allowed to smoke it so that we can speed up the process of allowing them to become useless and hopefully catch them before they breed future morons to our society.
