Default what a ****ing *******

Notice im going to try and spell everything correctly!

So im at work today chillin behind the counter talking to my boss. A well dressed man walks in, so i go up and ask him if he needs any help. He says yes, I want to do some modifications to my car but i dont want to n*$%^r it up and be like a black person.I said, "excuse me come again". He repeated the same exact phrase.

I pretended to ignore it and showed him a magazine which had parts that he could order for his truck. As he was looking threw he came to a section where u could get custom grilles and said, "see that wut N%$$%^#d up is" and then said the N word about another 5 times once he got to the page which had rims on it. At this point i was getting very pissed of how disrespectful this man was being. So i let my boss deal with him. He made a huge mistake saying that infront of my boss he got his *** thrown outa the store with allot of foul words coming from my boss's mouth to the man.

I was just wondering if anyone has ever encountered such an arrogant, stupid, and disrespectful person before.

What would u guys have done in my position?

That was your worst encounter with a direspectful person?

Damn, you need to take a trip down south sometime.

Personally, I would have said "Well atleast the n*$@(# stuff looks better than your gay hillbillly 34 year old truck that you had sex with your retarded sister in."

"Oh no, 3 black people...hit them with their own vernacular, makes them feel more comfortable. Say, give him a hug if he's into getting rub, I heard that on the radio on the way up here....tell him it's his birthday, and then say you don't give a **** that it's his birthday!"

LOL, dave chappelle is the best. He did a great job of making racial issues public and making everyone face them.

Well, since you or your boss didn't knock him on @$$, I am going to assume that neither of you are african american. Based on that assumption, I don't really understand why you are getting all bent out of shape. Why would that offend you? Of course, that was your and your boss' prerogative to refuse service to the guy, but he was a potential paying customer.

You didn't say how old the guy was, but usually the older gentlemen tend to be less racial sensitive due to the times in which they grew up. It is embedded in them. You would think that a younger person would be a little more sensitive due to the times in which we live and how much of an issue it has become.

While not being a racist, something like that would not bother me, as I am not african american. If he was not referring to me, it shouldn't offend me. Not to mention that I believe we all know what he was referring to anyway, in terms of how certain vehicles look. It's not a stereotype, I just call it like I see it.

But its ok for african americans to say it to each other? That double standard is what is ****ed up. They get all offended if a person of another race says it, but if they say it, it is ok. If you look up the definition of the word in the dictionary, it could be applied a person of any race anyway. It's just that because of the history of the US, it has a negative connotation. It's not our fault what happened ~300 years ago. And do I feel like I owe anyone anything, HELL NO. What happened, happened. That is part of what makes the US what it is today. But do a lot of (not all) african americans think that they are owed something, HELL YES. And you all know what I am talking about.

Again, just calling it like I see it.

I'm assuming you know a lot a african americans that think they are owed something.
Being black doesn't make me feel like i'm owed anything. I look at it like this....i came in this world with nothing and i'm taking nothing when i leave. I don't owe anybody anything and i'm not owed anything. Stang00 you did the right thing with getting your manager. I would have just knocked him out but then again....i don't think he would have said it to me either.

Calling black people "African americans" is retarded IMO .... africa isn't the only country black people are from. That'd be like calling white americans "European americans"

I don't use or allow the "N" word around me. I know that some black people use this word and I don't think that is right. In fact, I think that when they use this term, they are personally rolling back the clocks and setting us back 50 years.

I have had customers use it on ocassion in front of me and I just generally ignore it. There is no sense in getting into a heated conversation with an ignorant person and I am not out to change the world. I just try to lead my example and not by lecturing.

I have a 4 yr old and a 9 yr old and we avoid any conversation of color in the house. I don't allow them to refer to anyone as "balck" or any other color. When it comes up we say "we are all the same color on the inside" and leave it at that.

If I was the guy at the counter, I might have indicated that he was being inappropriate at a place of business. I might have asked him to leave by asking that if he can't change his behavior to please leave. But, I would have never blown-up on him and used swear words etc... It is fair game to ask someone to change their behavior, but you are not going to get them to change theyr feelings.

the double standard is fine if they use the word its as a social gestur if a white person says it most of the time we are trying to degrade them and say that we are better

I used to build custom trucks and stereo installs. We would run across other peoples work or hell..even our work sometimes and say it was N***** rigged. We were not using it in a disprespectful way but it is just a common phrase around here and everywhere I think. Just sucks when you slip up and say it around a black person...most of the time they would say..well it's true.

But good job on your part man. You did the right thing.

Yeah, that comes up a lot around here where I work as well. We recently just had a couple black people get hired for our crew, so now we have to watch what we say. No matter how it is used, some are going to get upset regardless.

I agree that it is retarded, I was just trying to be politically correct, so as to not start anything. The way some get bent out of shape about being called black is just rediculous.

What I often see is that ppl like that tend to assume those of the same color feel the same as they do. I think you did the right thing in demonstrating that the fearful, ignorant racists statements/phrases/stereotypes he made are not socially acceptable or tolerated.
I've often found myself sitting around shooting $hit with the ppl I work with, when eventually, while joking around, a racial or religious crack will be made. With racial jokes, I let them know that I find them offensive. Most religious jokes I hear are about jews, I'll let them know I'm jewish by birth. I love to watch how people start to back pedal on that one like, "oh, I didn't mean anything by that, no offense ok?", or, "wow, really, you don't look jewish." I just tell them yeah, we stopped wearing Star of David patches on our sleeves back in the 40s...
