It is definitely uncalled for in a place of business and i think your manager was right to tell him to leave but he probably should have been nicer about it no matter how upset it made him.

I'm the type that I really don't care if I offend you. People are too uptight nowadays. I mean, I just think that it is completely assinine for some who is not black to get offended by stuff like this.
I'm sure that I could start another argument if I brought up the whole confederate flag issue. Damn right I wear my Dixie Outfitters shirts. Doesn't mean what black people make it out to mean. I work with black guys, I have friends who are black. The point is that some are worse than others. Obviously growing up in the south is different than growing up in the north or west. I mean, within 30 minutes of house there are still KKK signs on a building in a nearby town.
Don't act like I was wrong or out of line with the "Democrat" line. I just say what a lot of others were thinking.

I mean, its just a difference of opinion. You aren't going to change me, and I'm not going to change you. Some black people are just as racist as white people, and we all know it. That's what I meant by the whole thing about some thinking they are owed something. Some think that because they are black, they have special power or rights because of what the race has gone through in history. That is bullsh*t. What is done is done. They wouldn't have the luxeries they have today if our founding fathers hadn't brought the slaves over here. I'm not saying it was right, and I DON'T believe in the forced labor that happened in the past.
But the fact of the matter is, what happened in the past is what makes the US what it is today, the proverbial melting pot. Although, you can't put but so many things into one pot. I think that now we have teeted over to the side of having too many different ingredients, but that is another argument altogether.

i do see yer point about words just being words. its all really in the context of what is said.
Whaddup bitch! = Whats going on buddy
Whaddup bitch! = you got a problem jackass?
It is a land of free speech and everybody has the right to say whatever they want however they want, however, just because there is freedom of speech doesent mean that certain words or verbage is not going to cause offence, and that offence might get you punched in the nose. lol.
pretty much, people should and can say what they want, but they might want to consider what and how they say it unless they are willing to deal with any resulting consequences from such wordage. lol.
personally i think anyone should be able to say it like dave chapelle. eventually it will strip all meaning out of it and it will just become a word. lol.
its funny how some words change meanings. Often my mother has said that i am "Living the life of a gay swinging bachelor". Back when she was my age that meant an "easy going ladiesman" rather than "Homosexual that frequents many men" I have to remind her sometimes that it doesent mean what it used to.

Real easy solution:
Arrogant Man:I want to do some modifications to my car but i dont want to n*$%^r it up and be like a black person.
Me: Sir, I am sorry but my last name is Jackson, my father is African American and I take offense to your comment.
Watch him put his tail between his legs and walk out.
Please keep in mind I am as white as they come.

Stang00, I find what you said ironic, as you're the one that bought a civic, ZING!
lol jp man.
Honestly, it doesn't matter to me if I offend someone, People offend me ALL the time and it's not like I go up to them and say "excuse me sir, what you just said hurt my feelings, even though you weren't talking about me specifically, I demand an apoligy.", that kind of stuff is stupid...americans these days are a bunch of wusses. As far as not seeing any kind of issues of race in California..that one made me laugh out loud. What else would you expect from the most liberal/against the tide state in the entire country?
I'm not racist or anything, but sometimes it seems almost as if black people that "take offense" to the N word are just using it as an excuse to feel like they are owed something. The slavery reperations thing, how dumb is that? I'm half irish and I'm not going around demanding reparations for the way Irish immigrants were treated when they came to America, holy hell. Everyone is equal here, so no one deserves any kind of special attention or sensitivity. I have countless amounts of black friends, and the N word (with the a at the end) is as common around here as the word "Dude" is.
Alot of racism in my area is mostly based on generalizations (as are most other things..), everyday on the news, whether it be a murder, rape, robbery, etc 90% of the time it happens to be someone that's black, that leads to generalizations that all black people are crooks, which isn't true, but stuff like that may be the reasons behind most people's racism, sure it's not morally right, but what can you do about it? Just look back in 2001 after 9/11, xenophobia and racism towards people of Arabic decent was soley based on the generalization that they look like the terrorists.
It's life man, get used to it.
This stupid thread needs to be moved to the political bs forum.
