Unhappy Dont look good, son

Well, I got the Mustang back from the shop today. The issues when it went in were a blown-header gasket, a non-functional radiator fan, a low exhaust pipe and a couple of others. It was supposed to be done Wednesday night, (went in tuesday afternoon.) I just now got it back tonight and it don't look good guys.

My catalytic converter is totally shot to hell, and it wasn't a header-gasket... it turned out to be a cracked manifold, a pretty good one. They welded it the best that they could (because there weren't any used manifolds in the system) and the reason the radiator fan wasn't working was because the previous owner had spliced the electrical wires and left them open... so the entire wiring harness was decayed, which accounted for other electrical issues with the vehicle.

Pretty much they gave the exhaust 10,000 thousand miles before the entire system needs to be replaced (and to add to that, its welded on.) This means that I most likely won't have the car through college... its patched up enough to get me down to Bowling Green in the fall.. but after that I'm going to have to send it through the market and try to get top dollar for it before the exhaust goes. That means probably a beater for a while, and maybe a GT afterwards.... I don't know, thats really throwing it out there long-term, for right now its alright.. well, sorta. They ****ing de-balled my car guys... it sounds like a ****ing honda civic... its so quiet its unbelievable. It doesn't pull half as good as it used to, the power's going to ****, and it just doesn't have that throaty sound to it.

But I don't really have a choice.. its my father's bank loan.. so, you know. Thats the verdict from the shop..

Its gonna be tough gettin' rid of $5,500 worth of work since January.. but I guess you're right, better to get rid of it now before it costs more than its worth to repair later.

They fixed the electrical problems, its just the exhaust thats going to be the biggest issue... because when it goes, the whole system is gonna go. Other than that the car is in good running order, electrical and engine-wise.

You should find a silver GT and swap the exterior over

If it's just the exhaust I really don't see the problem. New midpipe and catback and the problem is fixed.

Just buy your self a mid pipe WITH OUT CATS and go to the junkyard and find a wrecked gt and take the exhaust. That'd be the cheapest fix.
