You really can be fired for any reason. Recently they had a segment on 60 minutes about bosses being A-holes and having the dumbest rules. You have very little rights as a worker in the United States. A few companies could and have layed people off for very stupid reasons. Like smoking, if a company doesn't want you smoking at all, even at home then they can fire you for it. You get like a month to quit and then there would be random screenings. If you tested positive for tobacco they boot your ****.
