268miles per tank after the 4.10 gears and 248miles per tank with the 3.27's. I dont run it dry, my gas gauge is a bit off. 14 to 15 gallons of gas when it's on empty. But i know i have a 20 or 21 gallon tank when i read the manual. My guage is funny, it gets to empty, then starts going back up to over a 1/4 tank then i know it's really empty.
Thats driving mine hard, are u guys running around in 1st or 2nd gear getting only 200 miles per tank on those V6's or do the V6's have a lot smaller tank??
I know i could easily get into the over 300 miles per tank if id stay out of it. Im not on the highway much, that's why im getting better gas mileiage out of the 4.10's than my 3.27's
I get a lot better gas miliage on my 87 octane tune on my SCT 4 position chip i noticed.

I run 91 oc.
I made the mistake of putting in a tank of 91 and have never been able to go back to 87 again. My baby seems all groggy and tired on 87. When it costs close to 30 bucks to fill the tank, and extra couple bucks really doesent matter much.
Livin at 6,000 feet altitude, not sure if that affects mileage or not.
I was pullin maybe 250 -260 miles on a tank, after i got my straightpipes and an xpipe put in it dropped to under 240 miles per tank.
I really love the way it sounds, but im tempted to pick up some Mac mufflers and have em welded on.
I just want it to sound as good as it does now, but if i can pick up a couple HP and some extra mileage then hey. Why not.

After one year of testing this on the same road under the same conditions,55-60 mph, level road, and no hard acceleration,I can get 29.8mpg.One hard pass and the mpg's drop to 28.8 for the tank.So you see how driving hard can eat up gas.I just installed a Bassani cat back and that increased my mileage 1 mpg.I'll be installing a Steeda timing adjuster in a few days and i'll let you all know how it affects the car also.

I have Exhaust, CAI, and plenum.

i guess traffic does play a role. Im stuck in a lot of it. Literally every couple minutes theres a stop light.

Im pretty happy with its mileage for a V8 and I am not exactly nice to it either.

i think it largely depends on your mods and driving habits. If i drive like a grandma i can get about 250 on a tank, but if i drive aggressivly i can burn a whole tank in under 200 miles.
With the straightpipe exhaust i have the only thing giving backpressure is the cats... this really lets me burn through a tank quick if im not careful

something must be wrong since this time around on my full tank i am driving like a grandma, no hard accelerations at all, very slow start ups and everything. No mods. i try to keep constant speeds and try not to break as often.
All this and yet it still is going to be about 200 and no more than 210.
And this is my v6 01 not my v8 98.
Only negative thing about the car is my rear tires are quite close to bald while my front are brand new. This may play a factor.
Btw i love the MT boards :icon_thum

I have never seen over 250 on a tank since i modded my 04 GT. And i dont exactly floor it around everywhere. With the straightpipe setup i got, if i floor it around every cop in denver hears it and gets a big chub to write me a ticket. I think i saw 260 on a tank ONCE when it was still stock.
I wonder what 6,000ft altitude does for gas economy.
In fact, i found a 93 Honda Civic DX for $2500 that im gonna go pick up next week, the main reason for that is the 34/40mpg on the civic plus i would like to keep the miles off my stang that i rack up going to work and back, almost 40 miles a day. Keep the stang as a weekend/rec car. Plus stangs totally suck in snow, and we get plenty of that stupid white crap up here. i hate snow!
They say gas is supposed to hit $4/gal in some parts of america. Were already at $2.40 for prem. That civic will pay for itself by the end of this summer. LOL
