Default 2008 Mustang

Hey guys just read this in MotorTrend August 2006 page 12 quote below

''Mustang Fords ioronic ponycar will be given a major face-lift in 2008 wherein every exterior panel except the roof center will be substantially changed."

anyone have pictures? or any more information?

I thought it was kind of soon to already change the body style

no... nothing new to change the appearance... I HIGHLY doubt ford will stray from the new look they got goin...

but it could use some better designs... the interior is bland and square for one... and the hoods are flat and boring... and the grill on the shelby looks a ton better then the GT...

so I'm sure they'll make many small changes...

like 1994 they came out with the new body style (sn95)

and in 1996 they changed engine, tail lights, wheels etc...

as far as new generation mustang... thats just silly...

I totally agree....they just look kinda boring to me. If they want to peak my interest they will have to do something with the hood and figure out how to drop some weight.....hell, even muscle mustangs and fast fords said ford should be ashamed of how heavy the GT500 is.

By the way, I saw a Shelby-H yesterday and it looked pretty cool in person....I wasn't in my car, but I wanted a piece of that thing so bad.

Maybe... instead of looking like a 68 or so fastback, it could look more like a 70 fastback? would that be stupid or? I like the way the GT500 looks... its the perfection of the new bodystyle... like they made it first then made the GT look more domesticated and the v6 look even wimpier...

if you guys think the new mustang sucks, go drive one, you will change your mind, I drove my bro's 06 GT for a week while he was in Cancun, and i fell in love with it, the inside is so comfortable, and the feel of it is just like nothing else. Just go drive one, you will definately change your mind, im sure people felt the same way in 94 or 79 when the new body styles came out.

i love the new shelbys... the "elanor" hood doesn't really float my boat... and the frnt bumper is a bit bland and square like the interior... But these new mustangs are really cool... i want one... so bad...

And I know they will only get better!

Jack is right. The new Camaros will no doubt cost well more then a stang exceot for the V-6 versions.

I have driven 4 or 5 '05+ Mustangs and they are all a joy. The interiors really make the cars, but I do have some gripes.

1 - The cars feel too big. They have taken on a bit of a boat-like personality. They are not as nimble as a 99+, which is really a bust, because the 99+ cars are not all that nimble to begin with.

2 - Once again, the shifters suck-***. The sticks feel like a wet-noodle. While the hell can't Ford put a decent shifter in the stupid car. And, they should all be six speeds. Crap, even Mazda is putting a 6 speed in ther new entry level car.

3 - The rims are hideous with the exception of one of the new bullit styles. The tires are also too narrow. 235's. I think Ford missed the boat on this one. They need to be 265's or 275's. Stand behind a new stang and check out the stance. It looks too wimpy with those bicycle tires. At least it is an easy fix.

4 - The car does not say Mustang anywhere on it! Seriously, look hard. This is the first Mustang in history without those words anywhere on the outside of the car, right?

5 - I know this ios a car for the masses, but the exhaust should be a tad louder. Hello....it's a V-8!

I would love to see a Fastback version of this car! Come on Ford, make it happen. I also want to see Bosses and Mach's soon. I did see a new Shelby CS this weekend and I have pictures. The car was sweet looking, but had a sticker of 37k and makes stock HP.

I think ford has alot planned for the mustang...

I have to agree w/ all yer saying...

But if ya really think about it... is this not how cars were built in the 60s?

They have the 60s muscle car look 100%... back then they all had skinny tires and felt like boats and big goofy shifters... except now the powerplant still makes power but is completely different...

which is kinda cool... except back then you could make these cars quick as hell by going to a junkyard for cheap... now the cost a fortune...

I'm sure ford will eventually iron this details out...

don';t forget... it does help keep the price a lil more affordable... I think ford should offer a sus pkg, whl pkg, and shft/exhst pkg though... that'd be spectacular!

Nope...I read where the Camaros will be in the same price range as Mustangs. Said they will run between 18-26k.

I agree, people should drive one before bashing them. I also agree with a lot of what MT's#1Customer said. I spent a lot of time driving my bosses 05 GT and it for sure was a nice car....it was comfy and provided a nice ride, however my biggest gripe is how heavy and big it felt....and looked.

One thing I like are the mufflers are at the back of the car versus where the mufflers are in the 99-04 stangs.....I think this cuts down on interior exhaust noise, but still allows for a nice tone outside the car.

Would I take a new GT over my Mach....NO WAY....would I have taken one over my 03 GT Vert....YEP!!!

I drive our 06 V6 alot and just love how comfortable it is.I like the look of it alot but at times it does seem like a boat.Washed and waxed both the other day and had mine parked behind it and mine looked a hell of alot meaner

They just ride so damn smooth and the seat's are x100 better than the one's in my GT.I've also test drove about 5 different GT's and love them but when I get back into mine it just feel's more like a muscle car should.
