that sound like a good race... I only race (well raced) people that I thought I had a chance of losing to...

race him anyways

I've tried to get next to him but he always seem's to turn or something when he see's me getting close. He's one of those Cobra guy's that won't wave at a GT.
Jon I'm thinking Nitrous now LOL

I have a buddy that has one with a heavily built motor in his and I would'nt come close to his but I'm not sure about this one yet.

4.6 Dohc 305hp @ 5800 300tq @ 4800 Stock numbers
Do about 15% d/t loss and he should be at about 259 - 260rwhp
Auto, do a 20% d/t loss and he should be at about 244 - 245rwhp
:-) I did the math for you. lol

So long as he doesnt have a higher rear end gear ratio it should be an interestng race. If he has 4.10's or higher in the rear he will walk all over you, as those gears really put the car into the powerband REAL fast, and since the early 4v Teksid's were strongest with the mid-high end range, and a redline @ 6800 he can just keep pulling with those.
305/300 at the crank, figure driveline loss in and most 96-98's push somewhere around 265-275 at the wheels stock. If he has a good exhaust, some rear end gears, and a few bolt ons, he should be able to get into the low 13's...
With everything I have done on my car im expecting mid-high 12's if I can get the launch down and with some slicks, maybe even lower.
And we do have the T-45 Tranny with a weak shift fork on the 3rd to 4th shift...And some IMRC's that can be a bitch if they decide to freeze or anything along those lines. If he has 4.10's he should be expecting to see himself into 4th gear by the end of the .25.
And the T-56 makes a huge difference, and not just in gearing. The damn T-56 v the T-45 is about 100lbs heavier.
Stock for Stock you do have a slight weight advantage vs the 96. The Cobra weighs in at 3391 lbs v 3347 lbs for the 1999-2004 Mustang GT.
Edit: Er, nevermind about that weight advantage, that Mach 1000 adds about an extra 100 lbs. He has a slight weight advantage...3391 v 3447.

wrong,
96 cobra has a T45 tranny. 5 speed not a 6 speed.
only cobras to have T56 are 03/04.

You might have been able to pull off the ignorant last line of your second post if you hadn't shown how much you really know by calculating the drivetrain power loss for an automatic transmission in a Cobra.

People need to get a clue and move on. Be happy with the car drive and enjoy it.
Oh and explain to me how they are soooo overrated? This I have got to hear
