if jon f's up the engine, mom will just buy him a new one...or just a new car. If I was as spoiled as him, I'd use N20 just so I could mess the engine up and her buy me a new one.

 

you dont need ALL of that stuff for cams, but it depends on the cams.. all I needed was valvesprings. I would say the install is easy.. minus the valvesprings.. or just pull the heads instead. but I believe he already said he doesn't want cams.

 

And if I f'd my engine up, I wouldnt worry, because you would probably hold a contest and tell me I won a new engine...

fact is, Jon has serious prority issues. How many 12th graders have mustang GT's all modded out and hmmm, Just CAN'T decide if they want a $1000 Nitrous system...hmmm choices choices. Not to mention his mom's gona drop another few grand on a beater...

It's preeeetty easy to pay for all your mods when you have zero other payments. It's called responsibility. Jon apparently won't have that til his mom stops wiping his butt for him

 

But the thing is, HE paid for all of that stuff, not his mom. TONS of parents buy their kids cars, its nothing new. To say he's irresponsible for buying a nitrous kit though...thats dumb. He has been saving for months, bought wheels and tires, a clutch and nitrous. Not his mom. You mean to tell me that if someone said, hey, heres 4k bucks FREE. Dont do anything, you wouldnt accept it? Accepting gifts and being responsible have nothing to do with each other. Now, had Jon gone out and totalled the car, and then gotten a brand new one thanks to his mom, THAT is irresponsible, but Jon loves that car. Its always meticulously cleaned and shining, which says to me he cares about the car. I know TONS of people that had completely modded out Mustang Gt's and Camaros that I went to school with. So you cant use that argument either. Mustangs ARENT that expensive, and a kid that works a lot of hours or even has a simple job can do stuff to it, especially with no car payment. sorry I ruffled feathers, but the "its easy to buy crap when your mom buys your car for you" **** is getting older than when we ripped on you for your wing. Let it go.

wow. i was 16 when my parents bought me a brand new s2000. out the door that car was about 40k with tax and everything. and for the past year and a half my parents have been paying for my car. But i have paid for all my mods. and if Jon wants to sell his spray that he just bought, thats up to him. But dont be hatein on someone for their parents buyin them stuff.

 

i would agree with you...since my parents bought me my car...but they dont buy the mods unless its christmas like i got the foglights for xmas...i buy the mods...like i need to go get some damn springs

its not irresponsible for your parents to buy you a car if they can afford it...and mustangs are pretty cheap these days...my friend TWebb023 has an 01 GT and he is only working like 3 days out of a week at a car wash place but yet he can afford payments for his stang...and mustangs are not rare in high school...TRUST ME...i think our school is the king of mustangs

 

Hell, my parents helped alot on my car, i am paying around 5k cash over three years, and they gave me the money for my old car that i would have received by selling it, but instead we are keeping it for my lil bro. They, with tax etc. are paying half, around 9k. By no means do i go around saying i bought this car, nor do i appreciate it when people say mommy bought it for me... its half =D
As for mods? I pay for them, unless it is a b-day/xmas/grad gift. As to why i have only exhaust and inserts (springs are next baby!)
And i just graduated high school, i went to a private school... in CT, fastest car easily, but not NEARLY the most expensive, mommy and daddy bought this one a new BMW, this one and mercedes, etc. I would rather have had my old V6, even that everyone loved... everyone thought it cost alot more than 3k- but it didnt!

 

we have like 7 mustangs at our school....i'm suprisingly the only one with the GT tho


yeah and people think that my mom payed for ALL of my stang...she only payed 2/3 of it (10k) i had to pay 5k

my point is your cobra costs several grand more than my gt, has 2 more valves per cylinder, and is still weak sause

 

My parents also pay for alot of my ****. They bought the car. Paid for tires and partial rims. If my dad wasnt so good with cars i would have paid upward toward the 4,000 dollar area to have all the mods i have, done as cleanly as they are.

 

IT really isn't though. your car is rated @ like 210 hp while mine is 330. Stock mine would walk you...and for every mod I make I gain more for about the same expense.

 

your car is rated 320 at the flywheel...mine is rated 260...so its basically 300 rwhp vs 240 hp....60 more...with a heavier engine

What people dont understand is that the GT will probably pull em off the line, ESPECIALLY if he has 4.10's in the rear, and if the other guy cant drive, its bye bye cobra. Now, all things equal, the cobra SHOULD win. But if he cant drive...well, shame shame. And where did you get 210 hp? LOL and I dont have a clue how you got 330 either, both your figures are wrong.

 

**** I pulled a snake off the line, the one and only one I've raced which was a terminator lol (I'm sure he just gave me the jump), but that really doesn't mean anything. From my personal experience with the snakes in my car club those 4 valves are no joke if you know how to launch and drive them. But then again that's what racing is all about racing the person in the car not the cars absolute best per say.
