Why couldnt Ford Build this???
My wife and I have been looking for a replacement for our trusty Windstar for several months and tonight I think we have found it! Tonight we test drove a Dodge Magnum with the HEMI, what a car!!! the thing hauls ***, and hauls My whole family of 5! I have been a Ford man all My life, and currently work at a Ford dealer, but this car kicks ***!!! I wish Ford would get the ***** to build somthing like the Magnum. We tested the Ford 500 afterward and were bored to death with the sluggish performance. I am already dreaming about all the mods I can perform on that Hemi to make it even faster. I am wondering what you guys thing about the Magnum, it seems like the perfect choice for Me! :icon_boun

Yea, Chrysler has the market on sedans right now just with the Chrysler 300 thing and the Dodge Magnum. I hope they sell a lot as they seem to be not doing so well in sales lately, but they really kill themselves by not having an in-between sports car like the mustang. Its like, "we have the neon srt4, oh and then theres the VIPER." Just not a very big group of people that want those too, (or can afford them for the latter choice) Hope you get it and enjoy it man, Congrats

I was in the same situation but wanted 7 passenger seating, I told my wife I would not get any other sports car but a mustang but family car was a different matter and I got the Hemi Durango. Very roomy and super smooth ride.

We considered the Durango and the v-8 Explorer as well. What My wife originally wanted was an 05 'stang, but it wouldnt work as a family vehicle So we searched for an alternative. The Magnum really corners and holds the road very well, better than any other American sedan or wagon I have ever driven. I also really hauls *** in a straight line!! I would definetly take it to the strip this summer! Does the Durango have the "multi-displacement' Hemi like the Magnum? I have talked to several owners of Hemi Magnums and 300C's and they all are getting around 25MPG on the highway!! What kind of mileage do you get from the Hemi Durango?? We live in a rural area and every trip is at least 25, miles so highway mileage is a major concern of ours.

I unload the Magnum and 300 C's from train cars at my job. They have major ***** !! If you get one, consider spend the extra $$ for the AWD model, It handles awsome and even with all that power, you really dont spin the tires, it just goes !!! I think the Magnum is a mid 14 second ride and the 300 a low 14 since its quite a bit lighter. If $$ isnt a concern, then wait a few months til the SRT8 Magnum and 300 C are out !!! 6.1 Hemi with 425hp/430 ft.lbs.... The 300 will be $39,995

No way a Maruader will run with a Magnum or 300 C. Ive seen a few modded Maruaders and they have a hard time breaking into the 14's. The Lincoln also has 35 hp and 70 ft.lbs less than the Chrysler products with similar weight. Im a Ford guy, but when it comes to a American performance sedan.... Id go Chrysler.

The Marauder is a nice car, I have driven and worked on several. But the Magnum has more cargo and people space, and will out handle and out accelerate the Marauder when compared stock to stock. The suspension on the Magnum is much more sophisticated than the Marauder and corners much better.

From a design stand point the Magnum is very american in looks, like a hot rod with a chopped top. The Marauder looks like a cop car and in fact is used by them. Magnum is just more appealing visually, I would of gotten a sedan but since none have 7 passenger seating went with suv.

Obviously ford needs to bring back the SHO... I <3 that car! If you take your exhaust off, it sounds like Satan with 'roid rage. My good friend has one. We call the beautiful loudness "angry mode". Ricers get scared when he revs the engine. :toothy4:
