Default Antenna Delete

Hey guys.... anyone ever use or know of someone that has this antenna delete? It says theres a hidden antenna, so it's not just "deleting" it. If so, how's the reception? that's my big thing.

Is it worth the 50 bux to get something sleeker/different or just get the 14" that gets good reception but more popular?

EDIT: http://v6mustangstuff.com/Exterior3.htm about 1 item down and in the right column

(I don't want the 8")

cant stand the 8 inchers, too small, dont think 14 is enough either, i would recomend chopping your current antenna to whatever height you want... thats what i plan on doing and it will be right with the roof line.
EDIT: not to mention that kit will leave a nice little black plastic peice where your old antenna used to be? ghey

I shortened mine to 18 inches the other day, I think its the perfect height, Not too short.

I just knocked the ball off the end, chopped it down with my dremel, pressed (pounded) the ball back on and painted it.

Free mod.

I lost some reception but mainly because my antenna wire is broken at the jack that plugs into my radio(too many deck removals). So it has good days and bad days lol

By the way...I found the easiest way for me to knock the ball off the end was to secure the base of the antenna in a vise or something like that.

Then lay a pair of flat jaw pliers on top of the ball, hold the pliers tight enough to stay on top of the ball but don't gouge out your antenna with it. THEN give the pliers a good whack or two with a hammer.

I hit the flat part on the pliers twice and my ball came right off. Super easy.

I have two issues with the 8-inch... when the car is moving, I get really ****ty reception. Also when I'm near a ****load of trees (Which is 90% of Connecticut), I get ****ty reception. But once I'm on the highway or an open area, it's mint reception... which could explain Jon's quality.

hey whitethunder, i took my antenna off completely for about 2 months and my reception wasnt that bad... it wasnt great but for the most part i had no problems. i just bought that antenna delete you're talking about and now my reception is great. i have no problems at all. i've always hated the way antennas look on mustangs, when i first got my car i got a 14 inch antenna and still didnt like it cuz it was too tall so i cut my stock one down to 8 inches and still too big... now its gone and im finally happy with it. eventually ill get some things shaved on the car and that antenna stump is going to be one of the first things shaved.
