Default stupid friend...

Ok guys, my friend is "suppost" to get a 00ish Trans Am and laughs at me cause he will beat me in a race...

what would i need mod wise (N/A) that could allow me to beat a stock trans am in my auto...?

thx.... (he is getting in August)

You have your hands full there buddy. It's an LS1 so if it's modded at all you better believe it's breathing well. And if his is a stick then say hello to his taillights. Don't plan on beating him without being blown.

so basically mustangs arnt fast at all unless u got cash for a s/c? when he can pay 10K for a trans am same yr as mine, got mine for 10K and basically eat me alive....thats lame...

wut if i just get a nitrous to ONLY spray when i race him? LOL? will that work?

well if your car is stock under the hood....you have a lot of money to spend if you want to even have a chance to keep up with him. but i would say every bolt on (full exhaust, tb/plenum, cai, pulleys), gears, cams, and a new torque converter would help you beat a manual TA. if its an auto then you could prolly get by without the cams or torque converter.

i beat one with nothing more then cai,nitto drags and off road h-pipe.

its all in the driver and i was the one with the advantage. his was a 01 auto bird with lid thats it. beat it by 2 cars to 80mph when i shut down. He was right with me though.

dont get so frustrated when racing LS1's.. just remember it's a freaking 5.7 liter engine, you only have a 4.6 liter engine. My buddy has a 98 TA LS1 and they are no joke.

btw.. when my buddy goes over 90mph it feels like his car is about to fall apart and kill us all in the process. That's why your stang is better right there lol.


but I beat him from a roll before I put my cams in

lol...well i do got like wut rest of april and may june july and august to beef up my car and hopfully beat him...? lol

i want to eventually just drop a new engine in my car BUT for one, idk what to get and where and such. (( would this work, or be too big? http://www.fordracingparts.com/parts...tKeyField=4050 )

If i did... SLP1 + Xpipe + Gears/Tune + Tb/PLenum + U/D Pullies + Torque convertor + CAMS

would i be even CLOSE to him or just get all that and run like a 75shot if i got juice......lol (one thing about it, what else do u need to run nitrous "safer")

it depends about how much he mods his car... like I said before no matter what he's got a jump on you because its a 5.7 liter engine, when he mods he's gonna gain more power per mod than you do. so if you do all that stuff you could most likely take him, but if he goes and does a few mods of his own it will make it all more difficult

soo much easier to just add a 75 shot and do your exhuast and gears, but if you must stay n/a i guess thats a good idea.

Gears, exhaust, and a 3000 stall torque converter and some drag radials. This should be enough

i said that..so i mean i just might get the juice just to beat him and i guess bring up my times...lol

Take my advice, and seriously, take it. If you REALLY MUST beat your friend, and wont be happy unless you do, DO NOT TRY TO DO IT N/A. He will make you even more pissed off everytime he beats you for the money you spent that you THOUGHT would beat him. Go buy 4.10's, a nitrous kit, and a tune, and be done. Dont do this BS heads/cams/exhaust thing thinking that it will handle it. If he cant drive, sure, it will do the trick, but all he has to do, is get a cam, exhaust, and god forbid, a bottle of spray, and that 5k that you spend making your car fast n/a will be USELESS. Either buy a bottle, or buy a blower, well, or sell your car and get a t/a because the LS1 is a bad bitch, and you have to find happiness in your slow mustang because its a mustang, not because you beat an ls1. 8 out of 10 times, you will lose to them. Unless you have mad skillz at teh driving like spike

Why are you so worried about trying to do all this stuff to your car just to beat your friend? Do what you want instead of doing anything possible to be his T/A. Personally our cars look much better than theirs do anyway so atleast you have that on him. Mod your car but don't do it just to beat him.

4.6l = Scottie Pippen

Pippen was a bitch compared to jordan but was better than 90% of the players when he was in his prime. Even tho the 99-04 mustangs are not the fastest, they still hold their own.

lets say i did get nitrous, what would i need to be able to run the nitrous as safe as possible (tho nitrous isnt safe...)

and i do wanna atlaest do gears and exhaust for my car...

((and i kno he wont do nitrous on his car so thats not a worry))

I'm so sick of kids saying "nitrous isnt safe" ....nitrous can be safe but in the hands of of kids who dont know what they are doing then s*** goes wrong. If your going to put nitrous just to use one race its not even worth the effort because you have no idea what your doing and I bet you would be too scared to flip the switch. Hands down at this point he will hand you your a$$ without trying.

Nitrous is safe if you keep it on the d/l, get the venom kit that shuts off if the A/F ratio isnt prime for nitrous.

Well, for one thing, you are going to have to test the stuff out somewhere, get used to it, get used to how your car reascts to having ~75 horses shoved down its mouth all of the sudden. Not to mention... we all like to have a little fun on the interstate when no one's looking eh?
Along with that NAWZ invest in a good radar detector... dont tell me they arent worth it, if they save you once its paid for itself, just dont think you are invulnerable young padawon.

Damnit, nitrous is only unsafe because of that damn movie. Nitrous is JUST AS SAFE as a blower/turbo when run correctly. Just like if you run too much boost, you can blow your motor, if you run too much nitrous, and/or dont have the other safety stuff, of course you will kill your car. Be smart, get a window switch and keep the shot/use down, and youll be fine. Look at spike, he's been using nitrous for like 4 years now, with two different cars, never even had a dyno tune, and is doing fine. Now, Id still strongly recommend a tune for it, but IT CAN BE DONE JUST AS IF NOT SAFER THAN A BLOWER.

what year is it?...if it's an LT1 and not an LS1...you have way more of a chance...I'm thinking it is an LT1 if he got it for 10k.....and as slappy says, and I agree...we have the slowest fast cars around...ours are more of a combo of looks, sound, speed, and comfort. 5.7 L hmmm I wonder WHY he would be you? who cares..if you wanted a raw power factory, shouldn't have bought a mustang...IMO Mustangs are the best all the way around
