That thought has crossed my mind. I had also thought about nitrous. I would like to be able to run mid to high 12s.

Would I have to build the rear end to run slicks?

umm, it's always a good idea. i'm actually in the middle of it right now

get yourself some 31 spline axles, and a 31 spline carrier differential and you are set to go....

Thanks for all you guys input. I may just build up the rear and run some slicks and call it a day.

good call....

it's better to get it done with instead of ending up paying a tow truck bill back home because you snapped an axle

Great idea to do the rear end now instead of later. FRPP has some GREAT 31 spline axles, and if you wanna do it budget-conciously, get a 31 spline carrier from an f150, and have it double packed (taking a rebuild kit and adding more clutches to the diff.) and youll be set. Also, while you are in there, maybe up your gears from 3.73 to 4.10's. Nitrous would DEFINATELY get you there, and maybe in the 11's with the slicks.

Axles will usually run you about $250 to $280. You can get them from ModularPowerHouse.com, Modular Depot, or SummitRacing.com. The differential is a key part too. Alot of people go with the Eaton or Auburn but those are between $400 to $500 dollars. But if you don't plan on pushing anymore than about 450 then just get the Ford Trak-Lok. It runs about $200 in most places but don't get it on the Ford Racing site, way more expensive on there. The big dogs like Eaton and Auburn are usually for the high high HP/TQ numbers.
